FAQ:  MEET ENTRY; MAVERICK SWIM CLUB

How do I find information about swim meets?

Visit the Meets/Events menu item on our website. Each meet is listed along with any known information about the meet. As information changes or is added, the meet page is updated.

Meet Packet? Where is that & why do we need it?  

From the Meets/Events page, select a meet (select/click on the highlighted yellow portion in the image above). The meet packet, when available from the host, will be posted as a PDF under forms/documents (scroll towards the bottom of the meet page).

The meet packet contains everything there is to know about a meet:  host club information, location, directions, entry limitations (how many events a swimmer may enter), events offered, cost per swimmer/event, warm up times, positive check-in times, and more.

Why is the meet Registration Deadline different from the due date in the Meet Packet?

The due date set by the host is the date our entry is due to them. Because we are a large team, we submit that entry the second the host allows so that we have the best chance of being accepted into the meet. It takes our coaching staff some time to develop the entry, so Maverick swimmers must usually sign up about a week in advance of the host’s due date. That is often 4-6 weeks prior to the meet taking place.

How do I find the signup deadlines?

Open the meet information page (selecting the yellow highlight in the graphic above) to view the screen below (cropped). Scroll through that screen to find details about the meet including deadlines, the meet packet, the Maverick entry (once accepted into the meet), and any information provided by the host after we have been accepted. Each meet signup deadline is also posted on the Maverick Calendar.

How do I sign my swimmer up for a meet?

Select the Edit Commitment button for the meet you’d like to enter. On the screen below, select the underlined swimmer’s name (under Member Name) to change their commitment status.

On the next screen (shown below) select the arrow dropdown box to the right of Signup Record to pick yes or no. If you select YES, you will see the screen below. Select the day(s)/session(s) that you wish to attend. You can determine which sessions your swimmer should attend by reading the meet packet or looking at the event information at the top of this screen. You can also select Day/Session to view the events offered during that session. Be sure to SAVE your work. For most meets, you should receive a signup confirmation email.

Note - we ask you to commit by meet SESSION and not event. Our coaches will select events for your swimmer. If you have information you’d like to communicate (like event requests), use the NOTES section.. This could be event requests or letting the coach know you have to leave a session by a certain time.

How do I view my swimmer’s meet entries?  What will they swim at an upcoming meet?

Login to your account. Navigate to the Events tab to see all upcoming meets. Click on the meet you are interested in and then look for the “edit commitment” link. You should then see a list of your athletes and their events. When our entry has been accepted by the host, we will also post a PDF of the team entry in the documents section.

How do I change my swimmer’s events for a meet? What if we can no longer attend?

Commitments to meets and meet entries are almost always “fixed” after we submit our entry to the host. Meet entries are done many weeks in advance and the host club typically fills their meet to capacity. Because clubs need to adhere to rules about meet length, changing events is not usually possible because it affects the meet timeline. If you are no longer able to attend after the host accepts our entry, just let your lead coach know. You will still be responsible for paying meet fees as we have paid the host on your behalf.

Why is there a meet fee charged to my account?

For every meet you “commit” to attend, we compile and submit the entry to the host. When that entry is accepted, the host expects payment per the entry fees outlined in the meet packet. We pay on your behalf and then bill your account.

How do I see my swimmer’s meet results?

If using a computer, login to your account. Select the Members tab and select a swimmer. On the swimmer page, select the Meet Results tab.

In SportsEngine, select the member and look for Meet Results.
