Introduction
Around the early 2020s, we witnessed a decompilation that changed everything. The ability to play your classic games NATIVELY on your PC with mods at uncapped FPS? It’s a dream come true! Thanks to dozens of talented people, many classic games were decompiled and ported into PC for anyone to play. Character mods, Audio mods, Co-op, gamemodes, the works.
Now we’re in the mid-2020s, and AI has gotten a hold of everything, with people that have little to NO programming experience porting games completely untested, leading to a wave of buggy AI ports of games that are completely broken. And the sad part is, they overshadow the quality work of decomps/recomps done by actual people.
THAT’S GONNA CHANGE!
This document will list every decomp/recomp project done 100% by human hands!
If a project I added is vibecoded or AI-Assisted was added by accident, PLEASE let me know on twitter DMs at @funky90slion ! Thank you!
I am not against AI-Assisted Projects done responsibly as they’re different from vibecoding. HOWEVER, this list is made to showcase projects made by people who powered through any difficult tasks. And deserve to be commended for their efforts.
BUT, if anyone makes a list, I’d be happy to link it there.

Note to Editors
An important message to the editors.
Since I don’t really pay attention to this anymore as I have more priority on my own projects, I have left the list to contributors who volunteered. However, it would appear that some of you might have added projects that contain Claude or AI.
So to reiterate: This list is for projects that do NOT use AI such as Claude or ChatGPT, AT ALL. Not even AI-Assisted. Even if projects that contain AI were removed, they may be added back by accident. So to help with the confusion, I will be listing things that can help you.
* Make sure to block user Claude and other AI users in Github. This will make Github tell you if a project is AI-Assisted/Vibe Coded.
* If a project is removed because it was found out to be made with AI and it was added by accident, make sure to leave a note that replaces it and says “[Project Name] has been removed due to being made with AI”. That’ll let the other editors know.
