Problem-Solving Begins with Creativity & Imagination
Creativity can be taught? Yes!
When you think 'creative type' do you envision a starving artist?
Although creativity has always been an essential part of science and industry, not to mention human survival, many parents see creativity as a different path for some,
instead of the difference between obscurity and brilliance in almost any field.
Children who possess the qualities of imagination and creativity can reach tremendous success in their professional and personal life. Raising imaginative and creative children is not an easy task! Nurturing and developing imagination and creativity in your children is very critical, because it promotes and enhances problem-solving skills and acumen, so much needed to reach success in their life. To nurture imagination and creativity in your children, you may just need to step back a little bit and help them probe and explore with very little expectations of possible outcome.
In Kindermusik, our goal is to "follow-the-child" and then "stretch" the creativity and imagination by offering challenges of movements and shapes and sounds - SCAFFOLDING. All of this is done in a non-judgmental environment that experts say is necessary for the imagination to thrive. Who knows what your child may create from his 2 zig-zag blocks, what sound, what shape, what movement? Your modeling of movements that your child has yet to grasp is BRAIN FOOD!
HOME ACTIVITY SUGGESTIONS
1) Here are some Week 13 Suggestions for Home Fun

- MAKE YOUR SELECTIONS for FAVORITES: Wiggles & Giggles Favorites Sheet or email us your selections.
- WE NEED YOUR selections in order to put together the most fun Final Class of the curriculum.
- Pick a few favorites in EACH category and be sure to STAR* your child’s absolute favorite.
- Bring it to your next class or email us your selections.
- Continue modeling NEW & CREATIVE ways to both "move" (using Willie Movement Chart in your Home Activity Guide), and also to play with Zig-zag blocks (patterns + so many silly ways too!)
- Create new verses to All The Day Long: Ex. "I like to sing and _______ (clap) my feet.
- Play with your sand blocks along to Tingo Layo which has a Refrain Pattern and Steady Beat!
2) NEW? Have FUN with your child while they choose their Special Hello PRIOR TO CLASS ENTRY – this is important to do before class.
- Reminder: We want to avoid saying, "What would you like to do honey?" in front of the class, as this puts PERFORMANCE pressure on your child which we want to avoid through Age 7.
- We will sing, "How can we say a special hello to you." If your child hesitates we will look at you, or the grown-up attending, and say "So what did Johnny choose for his special hello today?"
