Schroeder South

1. Practices This Week:

Please make sure you’re checking the schedule on a daily basis.

If practice is cancelled due to weather or other circumstance, the schedule will be updated immediately, and an email will be sent to each family.

2. Get Your WSAC Car Decals While They’re Hot:

WSAC stickers for your vehicle’s window are available in two varieties.  The cost is $5.00 for each one.  Talk to your swimmer’s coach if you’d like one.  We recommend that with two choices, you take both to your vehicle and compare to see which one looks best.

3. Best Wishes to Coach Jourdie Lepkowski:

Now that she’s graduated, Jourdie is heading west, working in Wyoming for the summer.  We’re sorry to see her go, but we’re excited for her as she begins a new adventure.

Thanks for all your help as a coach, and best wishes as you decide which direction to next take.

4. Welcome Age Group Assistant Coach Curt Shumaker:

You may have noticed a new face at practice last week at Deer Creek, and that person is Curt Shumaker who is assisting Super 8’s, SuperStars, Stars, AG 3, AG 2 and AG 1.  Curt is a school psychologist in MPS working at Milwaukee Sign Language School, which is a K-8 on the northwest side of Milwaukee.

Curt started swimming competitively as a freshman at Rockford Guilford High School in Rockford, IL.  He specialized in freestyle sprinting, and his best time in the 50 free was 20.5.  Wow!

Curt became a junior captain on the team, and then a full senior captain.  He’s been in many leadership positions, but he feels swimming in high school was one of the most rewarding experiences of his life.  He loves the sport and is enthusiastic to pass along his knowledge and experience so kids will enjoy swimming as much as he does.

Welcome aboard, Curt.  We’re glad to have you!

5. Don’t Miss the Annual Practice & Picnic at Wilson Park, Tentatively Set For Wednesday afternoon, July 8th:

Remember how delicious those Schroeder hot dogs tasted? Save the date and sign up today on the Schroeder home page.

When you sign up for the picnic, please indicate the number of people who will be eating in the message box.  You will be billed $6.00 per person on the August billing

6. Contact Your Swimmer’s Coach Directly And Mail All Checks to Matt Miller:

Please contact your swimmer’s lead coach for all questions.  Do not use the Schroeder team email for that reason as it causes much confusion as to who answers your question or if your question was even answered.  So feel free to email your child’s coach or talk to her/him before or after practice.

Please mail all checks to Matt Miller rather than giving them to coaches at practice.  We have not lost a check yet, but practice can get a little hectic.  You can mail them to Matt at the following address:

Matt Miller, â„… WSAC, 9240 North Green Bay Road, Brown Deer, WI 53209

7. Private Competitive Swim Lessons:

If interested in a private swim lesson, contact your swimmer’s lead coach.
