  1. Have the children recall our five senses.
  2. Have the children match organ with sense.
  3. Tell the children we will learn about wonderful sounds things we can hear.
  4. Ask: What sense organ do we use to hear? What does our ear helps us do?

  3. The teacher will talk about soft sounds and loud sounds.
  4. The teacher will give example of those sounds.
  5. Have the children close their eyes.
  6. Have the children identify soft sound and loud sounds.
  7. Have the children listen to warning sounds such as, ambulance, fire trucks, smoke detector, police cars.
  8. The teacher will explain these are sounds that warn us of danger.
  9. Ask: How these sounds help us? Why are they important? What would you do if you hear the sound of  ________?
  10. Have the children speak softly and then loudly.
  11. The teacher will explain that we need sounds to communicate to each other.
