RCAA PROJECT PROCESS

 

I.         Planning

  1. Identify your area of interest
  1. Keep a list of project ideas
  2. Brainstorm
  3. Gather some background information
  4. Collaborate with peers to develop your idea
  5. Confer with your advisor
  1.  Write your rationale
  1. Use the proper format 
  2. Present to your advisor for approval
  1. Write an essential question
  1. Present to your advisor for approval
  2. Enter it in the project proposal Google doc
  1. Write guiding questions
  1. Present to your advisor for approval
  2. Enter it in the project proposal Google doc
  1. Preliminary product proposal
  1. Present to your advisor for approval
  2. Enter it in the project proposal Google doc

  1. Complete your project proposal
  1. Fill out the project proposal form in Summit
  2. Include sources and a live expert to consult

  1. Submit proposal to advisors for review and approval

II and/or III.         Research

  1. Take notes and conduct further research as necessary
  1. All notes must be submitted for advisor review
  2. Meet with your live expert and take notes/ record interview
  1. Complete your research writing to synthesize and show what you’ve learned.
  2. Document all research with proper MLA citation (Works Cited page)

II and/or III.         Application

  1. Decide on and plan your products
  1. Written product
  1. Create an outline or plan for your written product
  1. Product (create or do something)
  1. Create!
  2. Adjust/ Revise
  1. Make any changes to your product (conduct extra trials, re-do a paint job, etc.)
  2. Have your work reviewed by a peer and any other advisors and mentors
  1. Submit your final copy of your written product to your advisor after you make all changes.

IV.         Presentation

  1. Prepare your presentation
  2. Practice
  3. Present

V.         Reflection

  1. Write your reflection
  2. Attend your evaluation conference
