The film is a likely going to focus on the theme of mystery because of the use of low key lighting and shots moving towards a asylum like building which makes us wonder what the outcome of the film will be.

Where and when do events take place? How are these places represented?

The film seems to take place on a deserted island which only holds a prison or asylum this indicates that there may be sinister events coming up in the film.

The costume in use which we came across was guard's uniform this connotes that someone may be trying to escape or trapped on this island that the film appears to be set upon. The lighting was low key suggesting the film will follow the theme of mystery.

How does the camera & lighting contribute to the feel of the sequence?

The low key lighting creates a rather eerie feel to the scene which furthermore makes the scene feel mysterious and lonesome. The low key  lighting can suggest the negativity of the setting and the feeling the people positioned on the island has.

The edit gives us a larger understanding of the area the film will be set upon by showing us the island in it’s whole and the asylum or prison introduced.

The scene uses a staircase spinning around, this creates confusion and tension.

The camera moving towards the gate makes us feel trapped.
