Can you dine with me on Wednesday next the 13th at the St John’s Wood Arts Club 28 Finchley Road (next door to Marlborough Road Station). Mr W. L. Wyllie R.A.[1] will take the Chair and Sir Hubert von Herkomer[2] is the guest of the evening. There will be some fine music after dinner, a new piano Quartette written by Charles Bennel is to be performed for the first time. I think you would enjoy the evening. We do not dress for dinner, Mr Oswald Birley[3] is coming also, H. Pegram A.R.A.,[4] A. T. Nowell,[5] who you met last Monday Talbot Kelly R.B.A.[6] who has written and illustrated a charming book

on Egypt and one on Burma. A. Carruthers Gould R.B.A.[7] and many others.
We dine at 7.30 and are nearly all artists, a little bohemian with a spirit of “camaraderie”.
