Course Description:  Accelerated grade 6 mathematics is a rigorous, fast-paced, college and career preparatory course designed for the student who wants to take Algebra 1 in grade 8. In this accelerated course, students will learn all of the skills and concepts from the grade 6 mathematics course, including numerical operations, ratio reasoning, expressions and equations, geometry, and statistics. In addition, students will learn the first half of the material from the grade 7 math course. The 7th-grade concepts primarily are integer and rational number operations, proportional reasoning, and solving two-step equations. The 7th-grade concepts build on the material learned earlier in accelerated grade 6.
