Dear Master

I hurry to let you know that the portrait of Cardinal Rampolla [4511] has been sent express to Munich[1] yesterday, 24 April, in the morning, at the cost of our society.

All your specifications have been met and I have no doubt the work will arrive safely and on time.

I hope to see you soon?

Believe me, dear Master, yours sincerely,

Paul Lambotte

Dear Sir

Thank you for having sent the portrait of Cardinal Rampolla [4511] and for the care you took of it. I have received with great pleasure the cuttings of the reviews you had the kindness of sending me via M. ------ as well as the catalogues.

I am happy to see that the art critics have been so favourable to me and I regret I did not have the chance to go to Brussels. I had to be with my family because of a pressing matter –

I hope next time I go to Brussels in June I will have the pleasure to see you.

I am leaving tomorrow for Paris, for the Salon, where my big group portraits of the Gramont family are exhibited [8752] [11801] [6625] [6650] [4506]. Then I hope to hear from you when I arrive in Vienna,
