Open Mind Portrait Directions for Students
The purpose of the Open Mind Strategy is to provide a tool to support literal comprehension and a record of thoughts and reactions.
You will need a partner to complete this activity and a copy of the head silhouette (click to download).
1: Watch the video. As you are watching the video, write down key words and phrases that will help you recall the information. Write this information outside of the head silhouette. This is external information.
When the video is finished, turn and talk to your partner. Each person will have two minutes to say what they recall from the video. The object is to share as much as you can remember without including your thought or opinions about it.
