Assignment Booklet – the Top Ten things you need to do
- Keep it with you at all times – it’s the part of your brain outside your skull.
- Bring it to every class, every day.
- Record the “week of” date on the first day of the week.
- Fill in the names of all of your classes for each day on the first day of the week. (Math., L.A., Science, S.S., Digitools, P.E., Art, Careers, Spanish, French, etc.)
- Record an assignment for every class, every day. Write “none” if there is none that day.
- Check off assignments when you complete them (including the “none”).
- Write any reminders to yourself in the “Goals and Notes” box under Friday’s assignments.
- Check your assignment booklet at the end of the day to see what homework you need to take with you.
- Record long term assignments on the monthly calendar page in the front of the assignment book.
- There are several study aids in the front and back including centimeter and inch rulers on the back cover.
Your notebook – how to keep all your classes organized
- It should have three rings (“D” shaped rings are better than “O” shaped ones).
- The bigger – the better (3 inches or more).
- This is where most of your school materials are kept.
- Notebook paper
- Pencil pouch to hold pencils, pens, erasers, ruler, protractor, etc.
- Assignment booklet
- Seven class folders to keep current assignments and previous assignments. Always keep your homework here – nowhere else!!!
- Unless your teacher says otherwise, recycle old homework after you have checked PowerSchool to make sure that it was recorded properly.
- Class notes for other classes
- Bring this to every class, every day, every class, every day, every class, every day, every class, every day, every class, every day . . . . . . !!!!!!!
- Clean it out at least once per week!
Locker
- Keep it clean and organized – clean it out at least once per week!
- Keep textbooks, reading books, backpack, laptop, and coats in it.
- Only put your notebook in it during lunch and P.E.
- Don’t put loose papers in it.
- Put your text books in class order standing up on the floor to make it easy to get to.
- Report any broken locker issues to a teacher or to the office.
- KEEP IT LOCKED.
