Senior accountant for  £1.3m housing programme (rehabilitation after Hurricane Mitch). Managed team of 23 head office admin staff and 8 field office staff. Responsible for all aspects of financial management, including: budgeting, securing funding from donors, implementing appopriate systems, training staff, cashflow. Also managed logistics, admin and HR systems. Member of senior IAC management team.

Mar 1998 – Nov 1998        Project Accountant, Hospital Volunteers for Sudan, Omdurman, Sudan

Setting up finance systems in hospitals in northern Sudan with a Leicester based charity. Worked at 5 hospitals, training 3 finance staff in each, and implementing basic accounting systems. Adapted systems, and trained a local counterpart.

Nov 1996 – Feb 1998        Financial Management Services, Grulch and Commet Consultancy, UK

Project Manager developing IT based financial management systems for local Ministy of Defence installation. Managed a team of  six people and budget of £2.6m over 3 years, to develop and implement new systems (including full data transfer). Developed training programme and manuals; trained 240 MoD staff. New system is currently running well.

Team leader for development of new financial systems services arm of IGF. Managed team of 4 IT specialists and accountants, to develop a package for use by business teams in new consultancy business. Our package has now been taken on across the firm, and financial systems consultancy is a major growth area.
