Are you Allergic to iodine?

Terrible problems can occur if you are allergic to iodine:

Iodine Allergy Test should be performed before taking iodine. Allergies are rare but possible.

A skin patch test is usually done if iodine hypersensitivity is suspected. A small amount of Lugols iodine is applied to a patch on the skin and checked for a reaction.

* Do not take iodine if you are allergic to iodized salt. Do the iodine skin test.

There is no perfect answer for everyone. You need to decide whether to start small & go slow to avoid detox symptoms or whether to be more aggressive per Dr. Brownstein references here (50mg daily). Starting small & going slow just prolongs the detox pain for some. Many have reported minimal detox symptoms from being far more aggressive, starting with 100mg to blast quickly through detox. Details below. Iodism Debunked Our recommendation from the Curezone is to start at 100mg daily and go back to a much lower dosage as needed.

The Heel Dosing Technique:

Rarely, some people are so toxified that detox symptoms are terrible. The Heel Dosing technique can be used to get started with iodine.

A number of people have sworn off iodine because the online forum iodine participants take large doses which don't agree with a number of extremely sensitive people. These people are not alone but many don't speak up. Here is a system that may work.

Extra weak Lugol's Solution is often used by diluting one drop of conventional 5% Lugol's with ten drops of water. Then one drop of the weak solution is applied to the toughest skin of the heel each morning or even once a week.

If one drop of the diluted solution can be tolerated, building up gradually has shown to be effective.

Skipping the heel dosing on weekends may further help to desensitize.

How Long to take Iodine

Step 1 - Titrating up from 1/2mg daily to 50mg daily = 3 to 6 months

Step 2 - Stay at 50mg to detox = up to 1 year or until testing shows 90% sufficiency

Some people can start with 1 drop or more of Lugols in a glass of water with no detox symptoms, others 1 drop daily may result in too many detox symptoms. If 1 drop a day is too much, then scale back to 1 drop per week and slowly titrate up toward 1 drop a day over a month.

Blast the Detox Away Fast. We find that for many participants this is the best option. If detox is intolerable, it is easy to pulse dose or reduce dosage. The high dose works so well because it fires up the immune system to fight off any disease, including Candida.

Not everyone is so severely toxified to need the above Go Slow approaches. Most of our participants have had minimal detox symptoms when starting with 100mg as can be seen at the Curezone Iodine Group, where iodine expert “Trapper” recommends blasting through detox quickly with a high dosage 100mg to start. We have to revisit the 1930s when iodine was still a universal medicine, present in the US Pharmacopeia and was used at much higher dosages than anyone even dreams of using today.The usual dose for treatment was 300 mgs (46 drops of full strength Lugol’s) to 1 gm (1000 mg, 154 drops). It is very important to realize that today’s Lugol’s is not universally the same as it was because of new federal legal requirements about concentration levels, where Lugols is now regulated to 2% & 5%

How Long Does it take to become iodine sufficient?

How Much Iodine is Too Much ?

Beyond the body’s uptake of iodine, the rest goes out as urine. Some at the Curezone have reported taking 1 gram or more of iodine with no problems.

Recipes for SSKI

SSKI (Super Saturated Potassium Iodide) is clear in color, and not bitter tasting. 30mg per drop. Large doses have been used historically for lung problems also ideal for skin fungus, dandruff. SSKI is required by Lungs, Thyroid, Skin & Salivary Glands.

NOTE: “SSKI works spectacularly well for thinning and clearing mucous deep inside the lungs so that it is more easily coughed up. SSKI works extremely fast to thin the mucous and act as a natural cough expectorant. This function is very beneficial because when mucous is rooted deep inside the lungs, coughing is the only way to get it out.” See the Link

Recipe for 16 oz of SSKI:

Add 500 grams of Potassium Iodide into a 16 ounce brown glass bottle, put the KI in first then add distilled water to the 3/4 full level and shake, then add a little more water and shake, repeat till all the KI dissolves or the bottle is full.

4 Oz or 16 Oz SSKI Recipe

Recipe for 1 litre (1.05 Qt) SSKI or 2 oz of SSKI or 1 litre 5% Lugols -

Recipe for 1 Quart (32 oz - 1 Litre) SSKI

Pour 1,000 grams (1 kg) Potassium Iodide Crystals or from here into a 1 quart brown glass bottle, then add ¾ full distilled warm water & shake well to dissolve the crystals as you go. As you add water, you will notice it takes longer to dissolve. When the crystals no longer dissolve, you have SSKI. Fill the rest of the quart bottle & shake well. It is OK to have a few crystals left in the bottom of the bottle. This just proves that you have real SSKI.
