Wrecking Ball tech DC

techs that have been discovered yet

tech-name: “Walljump”

usefulness-rating: 10/10         difficulty: Medium

how to recreate it: move towards a wall, let go of the movement key before hitting it, jump when you hit the wall. (you can use any movement key to jump).

https://gfycat.com/infinitefarflungbullfrog

Alternative way: move towards the wall in crab form, jump and change form when hitting the wall.

yet another alternative way: (with its advantages and disadvantages too)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1fRCApjJ34M

tech-name: “Rebound”
usefulness-rating: 9/10       difficulty: Easy
how to recreate it:
1st way:
W into a wall, before you hit the wall do a 180° turn, before you fireball detach your grapple.

https://gfycat.com/ambitiousemptyiberianbarbel
2nd way: W into the wall, the moment you're about to hit the wall let go of W and hold S and before you fireball detach your grapple.
You can also do 90° or whatever angle you want to rebound at.

tech-name: “Multi boop”
usefulness-rating: 6/10       difficulty: HARD (but consistent)
how to recreate it:
1st way: Grapple, hold W into the enemy, press S after you hit the enemy, hold W again to get the 2nd boop. You don't necessarily need to double boop in 1 distance, you can just hold onto the grapple to go for the 2nd boop in any direction. You need to get 6.1 meters distance to the target you booped to reset the boop. Can also be achieved by strafing away from and to the target but super hard and only possible with the help of walls now.

https://gfycat.com/calculatingadventurousanglerfish
2nd way: Known as the LOS (line of sight) boop, you go for the 1st boop, break the LOS of your character with the enemy (for example around a corner) then go for the 2nd boop. Certain abilities such as mercy rez, tracer blink, and zarya bubble can trigger LOS boops, for mercy rez there is a timing where the moment the enemy gets rezzed and is able to move, you can trigger an LOS boop. For tracer blink, you boop tracer once and she blinks (when tracer blinks she basically removes herself from the game and comes back) you can boop her again. This also works for her recall, you perform it similar to how you LOS boop the mercy rez.

a History course about double boops :D
(i wrote this in a reddit comment like more than a year ago, a lot of these boops are now obsolete with all the nerfs received… feel free to pick whatever info you might find useful for this doc)

tech-name: “Bounce/Superjump”
usefulness-rating: 8/10    difficulty: 1 - Medium 2 - Hard
how to recreate it:
1st way: Grapple towards the object you want to bounce, the moment you are about to hit it, press jump/spacebar. Some objects in the game can be very easy to bounce like slanted walls or weird objects. You cannot bounce against flat walls or walls that have a cap on it.

https://gfycat.com/immaculateactiveeuropeanpolecat
2nd way: This way you can bounce on flat walls. You grapple towards the wall you want to bounce on, the moment you hit the wall, you press spacebar/jump while looking at a certain angle to the side of the wall.

https://gfycat.com/educatedgleamingkob

tech-name: “Extended bounce”

usefulness-rating: 4/10    difficulty: Hard+
how to recreate it: Keep your grapple attached while doing a bounce and get fireball the second you are about to jump

https://gfycat.com/diligentacademicarachnid

https://gfycat.com/bleakpeacefulgrackle
basically a mix or combo of “tightrope” (or “slingshot”) + bounce

tech-name: “Character bounces

usefulness-rating: 6/10    difficulty: Hard

can be done with:

ult: Grapple into enemy, the moment you are about to boop the enemy, minefield and jump at the same time while holding the piledriver button to make sure you get a slam.

change form: Grapple into enemy, when you are really close to the enemy, jump while changing form to get on the enemies head while holding down the piledriver button to get a slam.

https://gfycat.com/amusedsoftalligator

it can be done also without changing form if you bounce before reaching fireball speed =>

https://streamable.com/dkph8c

ping: if you have a high enough ping you can bounce on the enemy while in ball form but tbh this is kina rng.

tech-name: “Short rope/Moon Rope

usefulness-rating: 5/10    difficulty: Easy

done by being on a highground and grappling below another highground where you want to jump to. This creates a moon-gravity like effect of floating and let's you quickly grapple to highground without making noise.

tech-name: “Drop boop”

usefulness-rating: 5/10    difficulty: Medium
Jump from a highground, hook immediately to a wall or surface to guide your descent and reach fireball speed, boop before touching ground, keep holding your hook while waiting for the target to be booped far enough and follow-up with another standard boop (this tech became much harder to perform due to the boop/knockback nerf, but it used to be absolutely easy before)
.

still useful to get instant fireball. can be instantly be followed up with a slam for 150 dmg

https://gfycat.com/unfortunateexcellentcatbird

tech-name: “Instant rebound

usefulness-rating: 5/10    difficulty: HARDD, can learn consistently

tech-name: “
Elevator Bounce”

usefulness-rating: 4/10    difficulty: Easy (ONLY WORKS ON HOLLYWOOD)
What you want to do is trigger the elevator to go up, then grapple somewhere from mid to high of the elevator, then while holding the grapple go under the elevator before it goes down. Once the elevator goes down then you will experience the elevator bounce.

https://gfycat.com/relievedmeanhagfish

tech-name: “Moving platform bounces”

usefulness-rating: 7/10    difficulty: easy (ONLY WORKS ON VOLSKAYA AND ROUTE 66 BUT ITS DOGWATER)
https://gfycat.com/boldacrobaticgallowaycow

tech-name: “Bhop/BunnyHop”

usefulness-rating: 10/10    difficulty: Easy
Grapple is released after reaching fireball speed. Jump while rolling at max speed, then right when you’re going to touch the ground again, jump immediately to have as less friction (time in contact with the ground) as possible so you can keep your speed momentum and travel further at higher speed. (same tech used by Lucio mains)

tech-name: “Ledge Slam”

usefulness-rating: 10/10    difficulty: Easy
in ball form, stay close to the edge of a high ground, roll in the direction of the below ground, but immediately after, while you’re in the air, trigger the PD while looking back to the ledge.  One cool thing about the ledge slam, in kings row do you notice those holes on 3rd point? Well you can actually ledge slam off of those holes on 3rd point kings row!

^ Because on this map, there is a gap/void below you and the elevated platform you want to reach, that is why you can PD (piledrive). Yes, you can stand on that kind of grid floor which you can see on the edge of the ground surface, but for the PD in the game engine, it's the same as if there was nothing. Any small difference of elevation is enough to trigger a PD on this map, here's a demo to explain it to you in image => https://streamable.com/1oz9u4

(in this video clip, the 2nd PD is a standard "ledge PD" and I use it to show you the difference between the 1st and the 3rd PD)

tech-name: “Blender”

usefulness-rating: 3/10    difficulty: Easy AF
very situational tech, almost impossible to explain with words only. It would be better to showcase it directly. Basically, you grapple to a surface below you while staying on ground where you’re at. It’s like the spin2win tech, except you don’t grapple something which is right in front of you, but below. (originally, the name “below grab” was given to this tech)

tech-name: “
CornerJump

usefulness-rating: 8/10    difficulty: Medium
1st way: This way is basically a walljump but super easy, you don't even need the opposite movement key for this. Just jump when you are about to touch the corner.
2nd way: This way you instead bounce on the corner to get insane heights, by simply grappling and fireballing towards the corner and then hitting the jump button when you are about to hit the corner and your character will bounce to the moon!

tech-name "Wall Climb"

usefulness-rating 3/10 difficulty: medium

tech is done by grappling a wall behind the wall you want to climb then rolling into the wall, this will launch you upward because of your maximum grapple distance.

(Best results come from slanted walls but is still possible on vertical)
