{ I. Disclaimer }

I, SheepMomther, disclaim all responsibility for any consequences and misconceptions that may occur due to the failure of reading these rules.

These rules refer to and apply to all Mime Dog Tickets, and to all users that own Mime Dog Tickets ( A.K.A. Mime Dog Make Your Own Tickets, Mime Dog MYO Tickets, MD MYO Tickets, or simply MYO Tickets ), as well as to all users that have permission to partake in creating a Mime Dog character design.

By owning a Mime Dog Ticket and/or having permission to create a Mime Dog character design, you agree to and are bound to the following rules. Additionally, by owning a Mime Dog character design, you agree to and are bound to the Mime Dogs closed species TOS & TOU.

{ II. About }

This document contains the official rules to creating a Mime Dog closed species character design. Because of community members only being able to design a Mime Dog through the usage of MYO Tickets, this document may commonly be referred to as the "MYO Rules".

If you have any questions or concerns that are not covered here, or if you'd like further clarification in a topic, please contact SheepMomther or a Design Admin directly!

{ III. Obtaining Permission }

Before partaking in the creation of a Mime Dog character design, a member needs official permission! Official permission for ordinary members can only be obtained through MYO Tickets, which can be obtained:

  • By claiming a Ticket at a free MYO Event
  • By purchasing a MYO Ticket at the Mime Shop

MYO Tickets can also be gifted away, and can only be traded if the Ticket was purchased through the [Mime Shop]. MYO Tickets can never be sold for real-world currency. The MYO Ticket's recipient must be a follower of MimeDogs-ARPG before the Ticket is transferred; otherwise, the Ticket will be voided.

{ IV. Checking the Traits }

Tickets, just like traits, come in rarities; checking a Ticket's rarity is essential for designing. Tickets are accompanied by a letter. Said letter indicates the Ticket's rarity, with the possible letters being:

  • { C } Common
  • { UC } Uncommon
  • { R } Rare
  • { E } Exotic

Ticket rarities work in tiers, and the Ticket's letter is the highest tier it reaches, allowing the usage of the indicator's tier, as well as the usage of the tiers lower to the indicator's, with the possible Tickets being:

  • { C Ticket } Allows the usage of all C traits.
  • { UC Ticket } Allows the usage of all UC and lower ( C ) traits.
  • { R Ticket } Allows the usage of all R and lower ( C, UC ) traits.
  • { E Ticket } Allows the usage of all E and lower ( C, UC, R ) traits.

Tickets may also contain add-ons. Add-ons refer to the permission to use a trait from the indicated higher rarity ( indicated by a letter, just like traits and Tickets ). An add-on can only be used once, on any Ticket the add-on owner may posses, with the possible add-ons being:

  • { UC add-on } Allows the usage of one (1) UC trait.
  • { R add-on } Allows the usage of one (1) R trait.
  • { E add-on } Allows the usage of one (1) E trait.
  • { M add-on } Allows the usage of one (1) M trait.

Keep in mind that trait upgrades ( Ticket add-ons ) cannot be implemented on already-approved designs!

{ V. Color Usage }

Because of their nature, Mime Dogs have a wide range of options regarding their appearances. However, there are still a few limitations.

{ Acceptable colors }

  • Earthy colors
  • Colors commonly found in nature
  • Pastel / soft colors
  • Vibrant colors
  • Greyscale
  • Black
  • White

{ Unacceptable colors }

  • "Eye-bleeding" colors
  • Overly saturated colors
  • Neon colors

{ VI. Pattern & Marking Usage }

Just like the color usage limitations, there are limitations regarding pattern and marking usage!

{ Acceptable patterns & markings }

  • Abstract / irregular  patterns & markings
  • Natural patterns & markings ( e.g. spots, stripes, merles, splotches )
  • Loose shape outlines ( e.g. soft-edged stars, hearts, circles, ovals )

{ Unacceptable patterns & markings }

  • Solid angled geometric shapes ( e.g. squares, pentagons )
  • Letters, numbers
  • Most symbols ( e.g. ©, ®, ™ )
  • Objects and beings ( e.g. fish, butterflies )
  • Extra body parts ( e.g. wings, noses, paw pads )
  • Tattoo-like designs

{ VII. Inspiration & Themes }

Because Mime Dogs' appearances are based on their life experiences and personalities, this part is of vital importance, and can be rather confusing.

Mime Dogs cannot be simply "themed off" something. Taking inspiration is ok, but it's vital that the focus is always on why, how, and when did the Mime Dog obtain said marking / trait. Otherwise, the species' main concept point is lost.

For example, the species' mascot, Peebles, took inspiration on cookies and deer. However, because of her not being "based off" them but rather inspired off them, she does not directly resemble any.

Taking inspiration is still not entirely recommended, and SheepMomther encourages Ticket owners to contact her if they wish to use specific things for inspiration, so that she can guide them properly and more detailedly.

Taking inspiration off copyrighted and/or trademarked content, as well as off any creator's content, is not allowed in any way, as it's seen as unoriginal, and makes use of someone else's intellectual property.

Mime Dog designs may never resemble and/or copy already existing designs no matter whose design it is or whether you have permission to use it or not ( e.g. you may not "transfer" an original character of yours into a Mime Dog, or vice versa ).

{ VIII. Accessories & Clothing }

Because Mime Dogs live in Sympan ( and because in their canonic universe the Earth does not exist ), they do not have access to the same clothing we do. Additionally, because they have no toes, they cannot make clothing of the same quality as we do. However, Sympan is inhabited by other species that can help with the making of more intricate clothes and details, although these are almost unheard of.

Because of the limited access to ( and limited need of ) cloth, Mime Dogs' accessories and clothing designs and complexity are limited.

{ Acceptable accessories & clothing }

  • Things from nature ( e.g. flowers, leaves, rocks )
  • Simple clothing ( e.g. ribbons, cloaks, scarves )
  • Simple ornaments ( e.g. bracelets, collars, bands )
  • Intricate ornaments ( e.g. collars, piercings, masks ) upon approval only

{ Unacceptable accessories & clothing }

  • Intricate / complex clothing ( e.g. pants, multiple buttons, multiple cloths )
  • Clothing that presents as a useless burden ( e.g. shoes, underwear )
  • Accessories that present as useless burdens ( e.g. glasses )
  • Accessories that have no way of existing in Sympan ( e.g. tech, mechanic parts )
  • Accessories that mimic Sympan ARPG items ( e.g. Guild Master Badge, Winter Shawl )

The accessories and clothing limitations are extremely difficult to sort out; please contact SheepMomther if you wish to use accessories and/or clothing on your Mime Dog.

{ IX. Getting Approval }

Before officially becoming a Mime Dog, a design must undergo the approval process successfully. Approval may only be officially granted by Design Admins inside official design and correction queues. Unapproved Mime Dog designs cannot be part of the community ( see "III. Approving Guide & Rules" ).

{ III. Approving Guide & Rules }

Before officially becoming a Mime Dog, a design must undergo the approval process successfully. Approval may only be granted by Design Admins through official design and correction queues in MimeDogs-ARPG.

Once a design has been officially approved, it may be changed through the usage of an ARPG item that allows this.

To be qualified for approval, a design must meet the following requirements:

  • The design must be in an import base.
  • The file must be a .png file with the original canvas size of the import base.
  • The design must be created for an already existing Ticket ID. You may not attempt to go through approval with a design that does not have a Ticket with an ID number.

In order to approve a design properly, a Ticket owner must post a comment in the current design queue ( or correction queue, if sent to corrections ) with the following information:

A Design Admin will get back to the Ticket owner as soon as possible, and will properly add the Mime Dog to the Master Book once approved. They will ask for design changes if they find anything that is not allowed. If changes are requested, the Ticket owner will need to go through the approval process all over again through the current correction queue.
