The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess:
A Sims 4 Legacy Challenge by kjsimmanonroll
As we transition from Chappell Roan summer to Chappell Roan fall, I have written this legacy challenge based on "The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess!" I am a native Missourian myself, which has made Chappell's music incredibly relatable and inspiring to me. I wanted to create a challenge based off her songs as a way to help speak to my fellow queer folks from small towns in the simming community.
Since this is based on the album, I request that unless otherwise written, the heirs of your saves are queer as well. As with many queer AFAB folks, Chappell has been open about her relationships with men and even has songs about some of her male exes, but many of her songs are also about WLW relationships. The best part about queer identity is the openness and freedom it allows, so again, please feel free to use sims of all identities in your save, but I encourage you to use queer WLW relationships when applicable.
Artists like Chappell help to show the different sides of queer relationships- some generations are very wholesome and other generations are toxic. I also took some liberties with certain lyrics if there wasn't as much of a literal story element to them. Use your creativity, mods, and other tools to make your play through unique! Feel free to adjust if you are missing any packs, and use settings like lifespan that you prefer. Each gen has an optional color based off the music video, lyrics, etc. You can move to the next generation after completing all goals, aspirations and reach level 10 in the career if applicable.
Generation 1: Femininomenon
Same Old Story Time Again…
Start as a young adult woman. You live in the suburbs of either: San Sequoia, Willow Creek, or Windenburg. You meet a guy who seems like the whole package: handsome, charming, and funny. You start dating and you want desperately to settle down with him. however, you begin to notice some red flags. He always seems to be working late or on business trips. You wish you did but you REALLY don't like his mom. And possibly the worst part of it all? He can't even get you off! One of your best friends has been telling you that there are other fish in the sea, maybe even in the same pond... Regardless of all of this, you get married to him and have kids together. You get to be a stay at home mom and social media influencer, just like you always dreamed. Despite it being everything you wanted you can help but think about what your friend said... maybe what you really need is a Femininomenon!

As a teen, your mom left your father for a woman. While you were sad to leave your friends in the suburbs behind, you got to make new ones in the big city. To sweeten the deal, your mom even got you a new pet when you moved. Friends have always come easily to you, and you love being at school. You have a sleepover with your new friends and you find yourself crushing hard for one of them. In fact, you're almost certain she's flirting with you. At school, she pretends like you're just another member of your friend group. Sometimes it even feels like she's flirting with your other friends too. After school, you're inseparable. If you're not together then you're on the phone with her. The tension is ever thickening- but after living through your parents messy divorce you're not sure you'll ever want to get married yourself. What will you do?

She wants you too. The more you see her the more your feelings grow for her. You get to know her family and even become friends with her little sister. When you decide you want to make things official, she rejects you and decides to end your arrangement. You're devastated- but you decide you want to move on with your life now that you've wasted so many years on chasing after someone who never wanted the same things as you. You meet someone new as an adult and move quickly into marriage and raising kids.

You hang around the town hot spots busking for cash and hoping a producer will notice you. After couch hopping and barely making anything, you realize you miss your family back home. Swallowing your pride, you move back as a young adult and your parents welcome you. You decide to babysit for awhile, but still work on your songwriting in hopes that you'll someday move back to Del Sol. Well, your hard work paid off! After a few years at home, someone notices you and wants you to try acting instead of singing. It’s not exactly what you wanted but hey, that’s show biz!

Growing up in Del Sol Valley has its perks- the fame, the fortune, the other hot celebrities. Your parents introduce you to another celebrity family. You instantly click with one of their kids. Even if you don't follow in your parents' footsteps, they approve of you being someone who comes from the same tax bracket as them. Your love with them is hot and cold- you move in together but you're constantly bickering. Finally, your partner has enough and kicks you out. You realize it's for the best even though it hurts really bad. After you move out, you start focusing on yourself and realize you are better off without them. Your ex is reckless- lost their job, moved back in with their parents, and is at the bar almost every night. You have a kid together, so you have to co-parent. As you improve your life and your ex ruins theirs, you decide you don't WANT to co-parent so.... you have them dealt with.

As a kid, your parents were constantly fighting. It was exhausting and you decided to swear off love to avoid conflict. After your parents split up, your parent you didn't live with went off the deep end and ended up drinking themself to death... or at least that's what your mom told you anyway. You were an A student in school and always followed the rules. After the unexpected death of your estranged parent, you decided that life was too short not to live a little. You’re still uninterested in a serious relationship, but you love to party and kiss lots of new and exciting people- sometimes at the same time. You're not afraid to stand your ground if it comes to it- thankfully, your friend group is always dragging you home when you get into bar fights. Jobs come and go for you and you love trying new things, but you always have your painting skills to rely on when your cash starts running low.

While in college, your friends convince you to come to a party and you end up meeting someone who gives you instant butterflies. You hit it off and soon you're going on all sorts of dates together. As you near the end of college, you start to drift and realize your love has become somewhat toxic- You meet each other's physical needs but not your romantic ones.
