GRAD GROUP SIGN UPS

Seniors: Graduation group sign ups will be this Friday, April 28 at 7:30 am in the high school commons.  Students will not be admitted until 7:30 am and will only be able to enter the front commons door by the athletic office.  If you choose to line up early, please remember that you are responsible for picking up all of your belongings before going to class.  It is very important to remember that you can only sign up yourself and that there can only be 13 at a maximum in your group.  If you have any questions please see Mrs. Leonard.

ATTENTION BIG BUDDIES

The Big Buddy/ Little Buddy Picnic will be held this Friday (4/28). Please turn in your $2 to the Principal’s Office ASAP. Thank you!

Seniors/Parents - Please review the following end of the year Chromebook/Technology Information.  This information explains Chromebook purchasing, transferring of Google Drive files and other important information about your Google Accounts.

2017 PROM TICKETS

RHS Junior Class is hosting the 2017 Prom at the Artisan Building at the IL State Fairgrounds this year from 8-11pm. Tickets are $25 each, and anyone bringing a guest outside of RHS must complete and return a guest form by May 3rd at 3:05pm. Tickets will be sold during both lunches through May 5th. All tickets must be purchased at school. No tickets will be sold at the door. Don't forget that you must show your state/school photo ID's and your prom ticket at the door to be admitted. See Mr. Bond or Ms. Wagner with any questions. 

AFTER PROM

We will once again be sponsoring an After Prom party in the cafeteria/ Jr. High gym on May 6th - 7th following Prom. Admission is FREE for all Rochester Juniors and Seniors and is $10 for students who are not an RHS Junior or Senior.  Registration and sign-in will be from 11:30pm – 12:30am, and the party will end at 4:00 am.

This year’s After Prom party will include inflatable activities such as a 40 ft. obstacle course, human hungry hippo, inflatable basketball shoot, lifesize jenga, connect four, and yardzee, airbrush tattoos, photo booth, caricaturist, music, coffee bar, food, and much more!  There will also be a hypnotist show and all students will be eligible to receive prizes throughout the night.  Prizes  include big ticket items, such as iPad minis, flat screen television, cash, and many more prizes! FINE ARTS FESTIVAL DATE CHANGE

The Rochester grades 7-12 Fine Arts Festival has been moved to Thursday, May 11. Art work will be on display in the Auditorium and Gym all night. The schedule for performances is as follows:

5:30- JH Jazz Band in JH Gym

5:30- Vocal and Inst. Solo time in auditorium

6:15- HS Jazz Band in JH Gym

6:20-JH Choir in Aud.

6:35- JH Vocal Jazz in Aud.

6:55- Concert Choir in Aud

7:10- JH Concert Band in Gym

Springfield Clinic Sports Medicine is offering FREE sports physicals for all incoming 10th, 11th, and 12th graders for the 2017-18 school year on May 11 @ 5 pm at RHS! See this Flyer for more details.

FOOTBALL MEETING - 2017-18 SEASON

2017-18 Rocket HS Football Meeting: Monday, May 1st in the HS Old Gym/Multi-purpose Gym. 6:00 p.m. High School Athletes’ Parents & Players; 7:00 p.m. 8th Grade Athletes’ Parents & Players.  Coaches will go over the Summer Schedule, Expectations, Safety and Fees will be collected for Summer Football Program: $100 for 2017-18 Sophs-Seniors, $70 for 2017-18 Freshman, $150 for families with more than one player. MADRIGALS AUDITIONS

Auditions for the 2017-2018 Rochester Madrigals will be held Friday, May 5 and Monday, May 8 in the Choir Room.  Students must sign up on the choir room door by May 4th to reserve an audition spot.  Any student going into 9th-12th grade is welcome to audition.  Information and Audition music may be downloaded from Mr. Spear's teacher website, or from his Google Classroom pages.  See Mr. Spear if you have any questions.

2017-2018 ROCKET POMS TRYOUTS

Tryouts for the 2017-2018 Rochester High School Rocket Poms will be held at Rochester Elementary 2-3 building the week of April 24th - April 28th.  Clinics will begin around 4:00 p.m. and will dismiss at 6:00 p.m. Clinics are closed to spectators. Tryouts will be judged on Friday, April 28th. Contact Coach Kramer at dkramer@rochester3a.net with questions and scheduling conflicts.  

SUMMER SPORTS CAMPS REGISTRATION

This year, registration for sports camps will be done online via the school’s website on 8 to 18. Below is an attachment with a link to the website with camp information/registration.  The deadline to register and pay for camps is Friday, May 19. (The only exception to this is girls golf, which begins their camp on May 15 and has an earlier deadline). The link can also be accessed through the district website by selecting "Programs and Activities" and then clicking the link for "Summer Sports Camps."

PARENT INFORMATION

ATTENTION SENIOR PARENTS

The Senior Awards Breakfast and ceremony will be held on Friday, May 12. Breakfast will be served from 6:45 - 7:15 in the cafeteria, and the awards ceremony will begin at 7:30 in the auditorium. The cost is $8 per person. The reservation form and additional information can be found at the link below. If you would like your Senior to be recognized at the ceremony for any achievements, or scholarships and awards they are receiving, please complete the attached form and turn it  to the Principal’s office no later than April 28th.

REF TRIVIA NIGHT - APRIL 28

REF Trivia Night Fundraiser that takes place on April 28 at the Springfield Firefighters Lake Club this year. Please consider purchasing a ticket or putting a table together to help support a foundation that has done so much to benefit our students in the Rochester School District. We are also accepting donations for our silent auction.

Currently 4 Rochester graduates majoring in education are receiving $1000 a year in scholarship money. Along with the scholarships, just in the last 2 years, the foundation has funded in part or all of the following:
