I’m assuming you found my mod list linked somewhere on the Stardew Reddit, and if so then hello! If you found it somewhere else… how tf did you get here? (Jk, jk.)
I love, love, love Stardew Valley and am happy to share my curation of mods. Please note this is obviously tailored to my personal tastes as I actively refer to this list to manage my own mod use when checking for updates and such. If you find something you like, yay! Remember to show your love to the modders with an Endorsement on NexusMods. They’re the ones who do the real work here.
On that note, a quick guide:

I also wanted to shout out the Pelican Town Almanac (by JigJag), which is like Stardew Wiki Lite – the same good info, but in a simpler format and with less story spoilers. Very easy to use on both desktop and mobile; highly recommend! Also includes direct links to the Wiki if you’re interested in further information.

Read installation guides closely (I found this one helpful, in addition to instructions provided directly by modders) and go slow! Also don’t over-organize, as mods might begin acting weird if they’re layered too deeply within sub-folders.
Be sure to follow the required guidelines from modders themselves! I’ve done my best to make sure any prerequisites are noted (as I refer to this document myself too) but it’s possible I overlooked something. Also remember to check for updates!

These are not individually noted in the Aesthetic category; they are so commonplace, it’s safe to assume if you have an interest in any aesthetic changes, you’ll need these.

If a mod within these categories requires additional mods, they are noted below with the individual mods. For organizational purposes though, I have a specific subfolder for those types of prerequisite mods (shown in Navigation above).

As a note, I’m currenting playing through this mod for the first time so I can’t say for sure yet if it interrupts any of my other mods. I will update if anything pops up, but if this is the only message here then assume all is still well!
April 29, 2026: Future me here! I’m around mid-summer, year 2, and so far my main feelings toward Ridgeside Village is: I love the new map and added variety of relationships/quests, but the cut scenes are sooo looooong. It’s sort of like squishing a whole book chapter into a heart event, and I am not fond of when it auto-inserts dialogue for me (no options for me to select my reaction). Overall I would still recommend it for the map alone – it’s really well done and matches the aesthetics of the base game superbly – just be warned it adds a lot of narrative and changes your character’s family lore substantially.
Quality of Life
Note: no longer use Carry Chests, as it conflicts with too many other mods.
Aesthetic
I don’t personally use any clothing mods, but if you’re looking for some I recommend checking out lilsimsie's mod list. (If you don’t know who Kayla is, I also recommend her videos and streams! She even has a modded SDV playthrough. … Okay, okay, back to the mods.)
