Mid-winter Row

On February 19th the weather was warm and a crew of intrepid VCBers itching to get back on the water took King Tide for a row to Pier A and back.

Snow Row

SN-26.jpg

VCB brought one crew and King Tide to the 39th Annual Snow Row in Hull, MA on March 5th. Conditions were rough, with a bone-chilling wind up to 25 knots, but King Tide showed her weatherliness and the crew finished with a time of 1:00:47

Boatbuilding & Maintenance

This winter JML went into the shop for a major overhaul. A crack in the starboard planking was fixed, the thole pads were resurfaced, the bottom fiberglassed, and the whole boat is being repainted. It will be ready by the beginning of the season.

In February work began on a new boat, a 14’ dory for our lake program. Two planks are now on it, with more to come. Name suggestions are appreciated.
