Virtual Assistant Job Descriptions

Hi! My name is Alana. My last virtual assistant and I were very close, but he needed a full-time role and was no longer able to help me in this role, so I need to find a replacement. He is willing to help you with any spare time he has and will be a great resource for any questions you may have! Details of what I need are below…

Tinder for Job Applications

Duo Lingo for Certifications

Job Description 1 - Job Applications

Plain and simply, I need someone to help me hunt for jobs and submit applications on my behalf. Looking to hire someone immediately. If all goes well, I may even ask for support with tasks I have in my new role, or for someone to learn things like Google Ads with me (which will DRASTICALLY increase your earning potential, btw), and/or who will just be a warm body for me to think out loud and talk things through with to make tasks seem less daunting. This may just mean listening to me ramble and getting paid for it. Lol

Must use Telegram! Find me at shelby_bozelli and shoot me a DM.

Tasks

More specifically, here is an overview of what I need for this person to do…

JOB HUNT

  • Apply for jobs for me to help ensure I don’t end up homeless (Step-by-step detailed instructions listed below)
  • File Weekly Unemployment Claim
  • Manage my Interview Calendar

JOB SUPPORT (FOR LAST ROLE BUT MAY ALSO NEED IN NEXT ROLE - CAN IGNORE FOR NOW)

  • Draft and design monthly social media that I can pass off to my boss as being my own work. I’m willing to train, but experience with CANVA is a huge plus! (I’ve developed detailed step-by-step instructions for this so that you know exactly what to do - Please read them HERE!)
  • Research job-related things I don’t have the energy to look up
  • Brainstorming support (use your brain, your dog, your distant cousin, ChatGPT, I don’t care) to help build out various campaigns.
  • Learn Google Ads with me (this will be a HUGELY valuable skill for you to have that people will pay big money for) by way of listening to an audiobook with me, watching videos together, and discussing them, and then coming up with ideas/building out a plan with me as we learn the content.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks as they come up

PERSONAL

  • Keep me and my ADHD self organized and on task
  • Listen to me ramble and act as a sounding board when I need to think out loud and pitch ideas (this may be boring, but it’s a hugely important and very easy part of the role. I need someone who will actively listen and try to learn without tuning me out at times when I just need to think out loud with someone. I don’t expect you to have much feedback to offer, esp at first, but I need someone who learns how I think, is willing to ask questions, and then offer support accordingly).

Expectations & Compensation

Hours: Unlimited

Pay Structure
:

  • $1 per 4 one-click apply applications
  • $45
  • $2 an hour with a 5 NON 1-Click Apply apps/hr minimum

  • Bonus for # hours put in - paid time off earned?

* NOTE: Payouts will only be made if applications meet the criteria listed within this document.

Start/End Time
: While I cannot guarantee this will always be the case (as it will largely depend on the role I end up with), right now, I am flexible on hours as I’m usually up very, very late. However, I ask that you remain consistent with whatever hours you choose so that if I ever need you, I know exactly when you’ll be available. I’m not going to be watching the clock. It’s not a huge deal if you’re late for work or need to adjust your hours, so long as you just keep me informed and complete your work. I should just be able to reach you quickly, and without fail, during those times you do give.

Please only work if you can dedicate your time to this task to ensure that there are no disputes regarding hours. I will be relying on time stamps from form entries to manage time worked.

Clocking In/Out: You will be responsible for notifying me when you begin work, when you end work, what you accomplished during that time (number of jobs applied to from what sites, etc), and any questions/tasks you might have for me. This will determine what hours I will be paying out. I will also be conducting spot checks to ensure that your average weekly applications are satisfactory. If applications drop below 50 applications per week for 2 weeks in a row, your employment may be terminated.

Priorities: Tasks for my current role

Below you will find the details for the job hunt portion of the role. We will revisit this a few times to iron out any kinks that may arise as you work on this project.

Promotion Potential: Once I land a full-time job, this position will likely convert to full-time with a hefty raise if you prove to be reliable, trainable, and the role is one that offers tasks that I can contract out.

STEP 1: CLOCK IN

Log your hours by clocking in to the Time Logs form. Pay will depend on the timestamp of logged hours.

STEP 2: LOGIN

Log in to EACH of my accounts for the following job site EVERY SINGLE DAY YOU WORK:

STEP 3: SEARCH TERMS

Search for jobs using the following keywords (you could also mix and match some of them. For example maybe “content marketing” and then “senior content marketing”):

  • HubSpot + Keyword Below (then Keywords below without HubSpot)
  • Marketing Manager
  • Marketing Director
  • Senior Marketing
  • Lead Marketing/Marketing Lead
  • Marketing Manager
  • Marketing Director
  • Content Marketing
  • Product Marketing
  • Brand Marketing
  • Digital Marketing
  • Marketing Automation
  • Demand Generation
  • Lead Generation
  • Marketing Project Manager
  • Email Marketing
  • Campaign Marketing
  • Marketing Strategist
  • Marketing Operations
  • SEO Marketing Consultant
  • Marketing Analyst
  • Corporate Communications

Searches should exhaust HubSpot keywords on all platforms prior to searches without (i.e. ‘HubSpot senior marketing’ or ‘HubSpot lead marketing,’ etc.). Once you’ve exhausted all of those, THEN search for the same keywords WITHOUT HubSpot in it.

I am OVERqualified for specialist/coordinator/assistant/field roles and UNDERqualified for Vice President/Chief/Executive roles. If the salary range is right, you can apply, but please do NOT apply for these types of roles otherwise.

STEP 4: ADD PARAMETERS

Filter using the following search parameters:

  • Minimum Salary as Stated Below
  • Job posted within the last week or two
  • Remote, hybrid, or on-site roles in one of the following cities in Virginia:

  • Remote
  • Reston
  • Herndon
  • Sterling
  • Ashburn
  • Fairfax
  • Leesburg
  • Tysons
  • McLean
  • Great Falls
  • Centreville
  • Burke

* NOTE - It doesn't matter if they're part-time or full-time. I prefer full-time, but you can apply for part-time or temp as well. Only apply for hybrid roles once remote roles have been exhausted on all platforms.

** REMEMBER - Most platforms will remove these parameters when you search a new keyword, so make sure you reset the remote, salary range, etc., for each new search term you use.

STEP 5: EXCLUDE THESE

Jobs to Avoid:

  • Intern, Coordinator, and Field roles are below my skill level. Don't apply for those.
  • Senior Director, Head of Marketing, VP, or Vice President, CEO, or roles with the word ‘chief’ in them are above my skill level. Don't apply for those either.
  • Advertising-heavy roles (mainly based on job title, but also if it asks a lot of advertising/SEM/Paid Media questions in the application, you can probably skip it)
  • Anything with the word ‘sales’ in it, just avoid - Note: Business Development is another term used for Sales
  • Roles unrelated to marketing

STEP 6: APPLY

Apply for these jobs using my resume at tinyurl.com/mawresume. No need to read the job descriptions. I will read the job description once an interview is requested. It shouldn’t take more than 5 min per job. The title is what you need to pay attention to. Do not alter the resume in any way without prior approval.

STEP 7: COMPLETE FORM

Fill out the following form after submitting EACH application to help track your submissions: tinyurl.com/mawvajobhunttrackerform

If you find a job I’ve already applied for, you can add that to the tracker as well if you want, but I’m going to try to start using this tracker as well.

Message me after about an hour so we can touch base on any issues you’re having or questions that arise and adjust accordingly. Feel free to message me any time with any questions, for that matter. There’s no such thing as a dumb question. I’m also happy to go through a few with you to get you started if you’d be more comfortable.

STEP 8: MANAGE EMAIL & TRACK INTERVIEW STATUS

Delete all application confirmation emails. Add any interview requests to the designated tab in the sheet that records application history. Either COPY and paste the job from the master list or at least include the following:

  • Company Name
  • Job Title (Hyperlinked to the job)
  • Contact Name
  • Method of Contact (How did they reach out? Email? LinkedIn? etc)
  • Date of Contact (Just initial contact)
  • Status

Shoot me a message when I get an interview request to draw it to my attention, unless it’s for LinkedIn, because I do get those and respond to the legitimate ones. If I don't respond after a day or two, and you think it's important, then remind me. If you think it's a good fit and all they're asking for is my resume, you can go ahead and send it.

  • Longer Version:

You can stop your search, you've found your girl. As your most eager applicant, I encourage you to read my cover letter to find out how being featured on Oprah and MTV launched my marketing career! If I'm unable to include a cover letter in this application form, I'd love to email it to you if you send me your email address!

While I don’t intend to come across as braggadocious, I hope this story will pique your interest enough to keep my application top of mind as you compare against the competition.

As a candidate who is being very selective in their search to find a company where I feel like I could really make an impact, this is one of those places where I’m confident I WILL get results.

As a generalist marketer who is a lifelong learner, my educational background proves my aptitude. My decade of experience is packed with success stories. And my LinkedIn has an abundance of previous supervisors and colleagues vouching for my skills.
