Dear Laszló,
The book we have been doing about our visits to Hungary has at last appeared.[1] The first copy reached me last week. I have asked Messrs A. & C. Black to send one to you but I do so with mixed feelings as many of the reproductions
are unsatisfactory. You will I hope not be too severe on the painters of the originals -

In the book, Stokes notes that “László, whose ability has already earned a European reputation, is the leading portrait painter.”
