This house derives it's lineage from one of the three original girls schools that merged in the aftermath of the first world war. Legend has it that it was founded by three awakened sisters, who named it after their loyal familiar.
A Grimalkin student is elegant, reserved and quietly confident in their abilities. She exudes an air of sophistication and mental sharpness at all times. She does not seek to hide in the crowd or to go with the flow, a Grimalkin knows herself and stands on her own two feet. A Grimalkin student is never caught unawares, for her cunning is without equal.
Grimalkin students are shallow, materialistic creatures. For all their glamour, they have little depth beyond the insecurities they spend so much time trying to hide and the reputation for cruelty and vindictive behaviour they so obviously delight in fostering. Beyond this, there is little to the average Grimalkin student except perhaps a tendency towards morbid preoccupations and overt materialism.
Grimalkin students are often drawn to the leaden coin. It's most famous alumni tend to be the Necromancers and Alchemists of the Moros. They are rarely Thrysus and Shamans in particular are even less common.
This house derives it's lineage from one of the three original girls schools that merged in the aftermath of the first world war. It claims to have the oldest lineage by far, it's founding lost in Ireland's distant past. However, even in it's modern incarnation, the school's founding is shrouded in mystery. It was named for it's founder, though no-one is quite sure if the name was a title, the name of a particular witch, or the name of a cabal that established the school
A Morrigan student hones both her mental capacities and her hunger for knowledge. She knows that her intelligence is her greatest asset and her most terrifying weapon and she draws strength from it's sharpness. A Morrigan is emboldened by her quick wits and her sharp tongue. She's ever on her toes and her humour ensures that her peers will be as well, be they friend or foe.
Morrigans lack principles, they're fundamentally opportunistic at heart and can rarely focus on any one thing for long. High strung and riddled with neuroses, they are ever on the verge of nervous collapse. Their verbal cruelty is unmatched and often unprovoked. Morrigan students are scrawny creatures, ill equipped to handle physical exertion or hardship.
Morrigans are often drawn to the Lunargent Thorn. It's most famous Alumni tend to be the Witches and Enchanters of the Acanthus. They are rarely Obrimos and Thaumaturges are particularly uncommon.
This house derives it's lineage from one of the three original schools that merged in the aftermath of the first world war. It's current name is more recent than it's original founding, chosen because of it's anti-authoritarian significance.
A Gadsden student acts exactly as she means to. She doesn't let her feelings cloud her judgement or decide her course of action. A Gadsden girl knows her own mind and won't compromise for the sake of fitting in. She deals with all of life's turmoil with a knowing smile. When she makes a decision, it stays made.
Gadsden students are shamelessly insincere, deliberately provocative little agitators. As good humoured as they appear at first glance, there's no student as ruthless as one from this house and there's no end to which they won't go to achieve their goals. If that means that someone will get hurt along the way, they'll do it without flinching, a Gadsden girl's blood runs cold. Only a fool trusts a Gadsden.
Gadsden are drawn to the Iron Gauntlet. It's most famous Alumni tend to be the Warlocks and Psychonauts of the Mastigos. They are rarely Moros and Alchemists are particularly uncommon.
This house derives from a school aligned with Hecate Hall. Originally operating out of Yale University in America, the cabal that founded the school this house is named for in the United Kingdom during the First World War and still operates separately, though it has recently entered into an arrangement where it sends some of it’s pupils and staff to Hecate Hall School for Girls as an exchange of sorts.
An Athenian values wisdom as the prime virtue. He seeks ever greater understanding for it's own sake, his scholarly dedication and hunger for academic success driving him onward in life. His mastery of academia is second only to his mastery of self, he is well mannered, well presented and carries himself with a quiet confidence at all times.
A student of House Athena is a pompous little lord in the making. He will not ask for help and rarely offers it freely. He is unbending, incapable of compromise or admitting fault. He holds himself above all he encounters, even his fellow Athenians. Anyone who would question that superiority shall soon learn how ill-tempered an Athenian can be and if they are particularly unlucky, just how merciless and brutal.
Athenians are drawn to the Golden Key. It's most famous Alumni tend to be the Thaumaturges and Theurgists of the Obrimos. They are rarely Moros and Necromancers are particularly Uncommon.
This House derives from a school with it’s roots in the south of England. Both House and the original school are named in reference to a story by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle as an oblique reference to the legendary cryptid Black Shuck. It has a similar arrangement with Hecate Hall School for Girls as Athena does, exchanging pupils and staff and other things as part of a semi-formal association.
A Baskerville student has a healthy love for life. He takes good care of himself and enjoys physical challenges and pastimes. A Baskerville student shows no fear in the face of adversity or danger and thrives on friendly competition. He values comradery and has no problem showing his emotions to those he cares about. He is quick to laugh. A Baskervillian's positive outlook and playful nature is infectious.
A Baskerville student is a smelly, stupid oaf. He may take care of his body, but his brain has gone to seed. Invariably loud and rude, a Baskerville student's boisterous nature is often little more than a mask for their aggressive nature and instinctively tribal outlook. Don't let all that sweat fool you, though they're never as happy as when they're running around in a muddy field, a Baskerville student is essentially a lazy beast and will take the easy way out of any situation that requires subtlety, tact or academic prowess.
Baskervillains are drawn to the Singing Stone. It's most famous Alumni tend to be the Shamans and Ecstatics of the Thrysus. They are rarely Mastigos and Psychonauts are particularly uncommon.
