Remarks in forum by Mr. Arquiett, Secondary Principal:

Good Morning Students,

As you know, there are a lot of prevention measures being taken right now to slow the spread of COVID-19. This has created anxiety for some and questions for everyone.

One of the frustrating aspects of this situation is the uncertainty about what the coming weeks may bring. With this in mind, we are working to create plans for different scenarios that may arise. This will allow us to be prepared for any possible disruptions to our daily routine, and to ensure that our students will be able to continue learning regardless of outside events.

Currently, HCS is running as usual and will continue this path unless we find that we need to take additional steps for the safety of our community. We are working very closely with the Madison County Health Department and will rely on many experts when making decisions. During this process, we will keep you updated the best that we can.

If you have questions, feel free to stop by my office and we can talk. And as always, your counselors are available to listen and help guide you through any concerns you may have.

Don’t forget to check out Project Prom Dress at the First Baptist Church of  Brookfield tonight from 6-8 pm!

The Freshmen Class will be hosting a middle school St. Patrick’s Day dance on March 13th from 7-9 in the elementary gym. The dance will cost $5, but if you wear green it will cost $4. There will be food and concessions for sale. Only Hamilton middle school students are allowed to attend the dance. We hope to see you there!

(Keep through Monday 3/16/20) All girls going into 7th through 12th grade next year who plan on playing soccer in the fall, you MUST see Mr. Clive in room 114 before Monday. This is to get an accurate count of players for the fall.

The first day of spring sports for varsity teams is Monday, March 16th. Please check with your coaches for practice schedules for next week. Modified sports do not start until April 6th. More information will come out in the next few weeks regarding modified sports.

Music Trivia time! This week’s question was “What string instrument, normally used in Indian Classical Music, is featured in the songs Norwegian Wood by the Beatles and Paint It Black by The Rolling Stones?” The answer is a Sitar and this week’s winner is: Ginny Dionne!

Please see Mrs Hoople after Forum in Room 143 to claim your prize!

Attention Language club members: please stay after forum.
