1. The teacher will read “The Ant Bully.”
2. Review the story with the children.
3. Ask: Who was bullied in the story? What did the bully do to the ants? What would you do if someone was bullying you?
4. Brainstorm words that describe bullying.
5. Draw a face about how you feel about bullying.

The children will experience the main theme God made us and loves us all before going to Unit 2. 

Who gave us our friends? 

1.  Show the children different items such as Activity Pages, Read to Me Pages, and crafts from the previous lessons on friends.
2. Pull one item at a time, letting the children guess what is it and what the lesson was about friends.
3. Ask the children the following: Who is your friend? Why is hi or she your best friend? What good friends do?
4. Distribute spinners from Activity Page 31.
5. Have a child spin and  discuss how the children in the Activity Page are bringing God’s love to others.
6. Have other children spin the pointer and do the same.
7. Review lesson on friendship.
8. Play a game, “Tree of Friends.”
9. The teacher will sing  a verse, “Will you be friends with me?” invite one child to dance around with streamers in fall colors.
10. Gather the children around and say the following prayer: “Dear God, thank you for the gift of my friends. Amen.”
