Optimize your app for Autofill in Android O

• Annotate your XML based on the Autofill spec to provide the right hints based on your fields
• Associate your website and mobile app, so credentials can be shared between them

Store and retrieve credentials automatically

• Use Smart Lock for Passwords (recommended) to save and retrieve your app’s passwords, tied to Chrome Sync data

• Use Identity Security Features to skip confirmation emails, sign-in users without a password, and anti-abuse signals.

• Alternatively, use Android Account Transfer API (coming soon) to transfer signed-in state device-to-device during device setup. Account Transfer is coming with an upcoming release of Google Play Services. We will update our developer documentation once this is available.

Persist your app’s data across devices

• Use Auto Backup for Apps for an out of the box solution on Marshmallow+ devices
• Use Key/Value Backup to support older devices, or for tighter control over backups
