My dear Mr. de Laszló,
What a charming surprise this delightful picture of John[1] as a greeting for Christmas & the New Year! It is so exquisite that it really can go with one through the years with its colourfull [sic] composition! Thank you & lucy very much for your kindness in sending it to us.
We were wondering whether you would both

come here for a night or for lunch and dinner before you leave for America? If chance will be a kind godess [sic] to us it may be that you are disengaged on Sunday the 4th? We would love to have you here & I would like to show our home to you which at last is finished in a way, though it still requires touches here & there to complete it.
If the 4th does not fit in [perhaps?] another day though I am doubtful whether these last weeks are not too crowded for you already.
With our kindest regards, | Very sincerely
Emma Schröder
