“Let me tell you”

A day to learn about developing effective communication skills as a postdoc, which is a very important skill to possess, whether you are interviewing, writing grants, or simply talking about your work.

When: Friday, May 16th, 8:30am – 5:00pm

Where: Homewood Campus, Hodson Hall

Over 150 postdocs have registered!  Come join us for a day of science and professional development.  

On-site registration will be open from 8-8:30am.

Please join us this Wednesday (5/14) at noon in PCTB 113/114 for the following presentations:

1)     “Generation of Nonviral disease-specific hiPSCs using Gene Editing Nucleases”

2)     “Cyclic-di-AMP Signaling In Tuberculosis: A Novel Alternative Pathway Triggering Type-1 IFN Response”

The newly established Research Presentation Club is looking for members and speakers! Practice a research talk and receive friendly feedback from an audience of postdoctoral fellows and graduate students. Graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, native English speakers and ESL speakers alike are encouraged to attend and present. Monthly events consist of 2-3 presentations per session.

Whitewater Rafting, Sat., May 31st

Are you an outdoor enthusiast? Come whitewater rafting with the JHPDA, as we will raft across the borders of Maryland, Virginia, and West Virginia on the Shenandoah River. This is a beginner level course, so no previous rafting experience is required.

When: Saturday, May 31st, 11 am to 2 pm

Where: Harpers Ferry, WV

Cost: $74
