2016/2017

General Governing Clauses

The spirit of the dress code is that students will wear clothing that is neat in appearance, must fit properly, not be over-sized or under-sized and does not cause any distraction.

Pants /Skirts

  1. No torn or frayed pants.  No active wear is allowed.  Pants will be tapered or straight-legged.
  2. All pants must be worn above the hips; no sagging of or baggy pants allowed.
  3. No tight fitting pants (e.g., tights, bicycle pants or spandex) are allowed.
  4. Girls may wear skirts. Length must meet CCISD guidelines. (Must be no more than 3 inches above the knee)

Shirts and Blouses

  1. No color restrictions for any clothing, school or work related shirts are highly recommended.
  2. Shoulders must be covered at all times by an article of clothing.
  3. All shirts/blouses must be properly buttoned at all times.  Crop tops are not allowed.
  4. Tank tops (including strapless) are not allowed.  No cleavage or undergarments are to be revealed.

Winter

Wear

  1. Jackets are to be worn properly & not at waist.
  2. No trench coats or oversized coats.  

Other Important Restrictions and Information

  1. Sandals must have support across the top of the foot.  Flip flops and beachwear shoes are not allowed.  Shoes with strings must be tied.
  2. Belts that are worn must not hang below waist.
  3. Caps, hats, headgear, beanies, or sunglasses are NOT allowed.
  4. One earring may be worn on the bottom lobe.
  5. Distracting hairstyles, hair cuts, or hair colors are NOT allowed. No spiked hair or sculptured designs or letters on head.
  6. No body piercing, tongue rings, eyebrow rings, nose rings, ear gauges (plugs), or decorative mouthpieces allowed (grills).
  7. All gang-related symbols and markings as determined by local gang prevention authorities are not permitted. No bandanas/do-rags may be brought to school.  All tattoos and “hickeys” are to be covered at all times with clothing or tape.
  8. Dangling key rings and chains will not be permitted.  This includes chains attached to wallets, footwear, or backpacks.
  9. Facial and body glitter is NOT allowed.
  10. Excessive jewelry is NOT allowed. (i.e. dog collars, leather bracelets/belts with studs, etc.) Jewelry related to “Goth” is not permitted. Heavy chains, pendants, and other jewelry are not permitted. Shirts/Objects promoting devil worship, sex, drugs, or obscenities will not be allowed.
  11. No excessive, distracting make-up or finger nail polish (i.e. black, blue, etc.) of any kind will be allowed for any student.  No black/dark lipstick or make up allowed.
  12. Contacts of unnatural eye color or design are not permitted.
  13. No electronics devices are allowed.
  14. Cell phones must be in the “off” position and stored. Unless they are being used for instruction or in break areas. Cell phone rules emulate a “real world” work expectation.
  15. Community work training students must wear closed toe shoes at the job site.
  16. Community work training students must have shirts tucked in at all times.
  17. Community work training students are not allowed to carry backpacks.
  18. Community work training students will have to abide by job site dress code policies.
