Preface
Hello all, thank you all for taking the time out to read this document. As you will see, this document is focused on Alpha Kappa Alpha, however, this document is not subject to just AKA. All divine 9 sororities and fraternities are founded upon similar beliefs, customs and traditions. If you conduct more research you will find my statement to be true.

What the Word of God says about taking oaths:
Matthew 5:33-37:
James 5:12
Conclusion:
The word of God is very clear here. We are not to swear nor are we to pledge or take any type of oaths. In order to become a member of alpha kappa alpha, one must make an oath and that clearly conflicts with the Word of God.

Key factors here:
What the word of God says:
Ephesians 6:12
Conclusion:
The ritual clearly states that at this point, it’s no longer physical. Members + initiates are now tapping into the spiritual world. Why are members + initiates required to tap into the spiritual realm to be a part of the sorority? This goes to show it’s much deeper than what it seems to be on the surface. Members + initiates are making oaths and spiritual covenants, which is against God’s word. There’s a dark side to the spiritual world, and if this ritual is in conflict with God’s word, you can bet it isn’t the good side being tapped into.
Deuteronomy 6:13
Hebrews 12:28
Conclusion:
There are many scriptures in the bible that tell us to have reverence for God, which makes it mandatory if you want to please him. Aka uses verbiage that describes what our attitudes should be like toward God and no one should be told to hold an org or anything to the same degree we should be holding God.

What the word of God says:
1Peter 2:21
John 13:15
Conclusion:
Again, aka is calling initiates to take a “promise of devotion,” an oath, to be a living example of what aka stands for. In the bible it says we should be striving to be like Christ. One should not take an oath and devote themselves to being an example of or bringing glory to anything or anyone but God.

Key factors here:
What the word of God says:
Exodus 20:3-6
3 “You shall have no other gods before me.
4 “You shall not make for yourself an image in the form of anything in heaven above or on the earth beneath or in the waters below. 5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, punishing the children for the sin of the parents to the third and fourth generation of those who hate me, 6 but showing love to a thousand generations of those who love me and keep my commandment
Exodus 20:4 CLEARLY states,
Exodus 20:5 CLEARLY states
“You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God.”
Psalm 138:2
2 I will worship toward thy holy temple, and praise thy name for thy lovingkindness and for thy truth: for thou hast magnified thy word above all thy name.
Psalm 103:19
19 The Lord has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all.
Psalm 115:1-3
1 Not to us, Lord, not to us but to your name be the glory, because of your love and faithfulness. 2 Why do the nations say, “Where is their God?” 3 Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him.
Last but most certainly not least …
Isaiah 42:8
8 “I am the Lord; that is my name! I will not yield my glory to another or my praise to idols.
Conclusion:
Initiates enter a dark room and go before a table covered in white with things representing aka and the pledge book. The ritual clearly states there’s a candle on the table that represents ethel hedgeman lyle. So in essence, initiates have to kneel/ bow down to this table that pays homage to aka and and the image/representation of ethel. What does kneeling mean ? The ritual book states the kneeling represents proof of submission to aka. This all conflicts with the Word of God. God is SOVEREIGN over everything in the universe, which makes Him the highest authority , and we should not be making oaths, bowing down to , or placing any idols before Him. All of this goes against what the Word of God says.

Key factors here:
What the word of God Says
Psalm 46:1
1God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble.
Psalm 121: 7-8
7 The Lord will keep you from all harm— he will watch over your life; 8 the Lord will watch over your coming and going both now and forevermore.
Conclusion :
aka is stating that the organization and the deity behind it is the source for all things regarding protection/ security, opportunities, responsibility and relationships. In essence, it’s saying you need this organization, because it’ll provide for you what you can’t provide for yourself if you are not a part of the organization. This is in direct conflict with who God is and His word, because he is THE SOURCE. When you’re in him, you don’t need anything or anyone else.

Key factors here:
What the Word of God says:
Psalm 119:18
18 Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
Conclusion:
When you compare the first line of the prayer from ritual books and actual scripture from Psalm 119:18, you can clearly see the scripture taken from Psalm 119 was imitated and manipulated in the aka ritual book. It’s obvious in the ritual book, things have been added and subtracted from the actual scripture and it changes the ENTIRE context in the aka ritual book.
Ritual book: Open then my eyes, O God, that I may behold the wondrous works of this great organization
Word of God: Open thou mine eyes, that I may behold wondrous things out of thy law.
The ritual book clearly takes out the very thing about God and that’s the wondrous things of His law and replaces it with “the wondrous works of the great organization.” Furthermore, the Word was intended for the focus of this scripture to be on God, but in the ritual book, the focus completely shifted and made aka the focus. The ritual book took the scripture, shifted it, manipulated it, and used it out of context.
The Word of God also warns against adding, subtracting and using scripture out of context. So again, there’s a direct conflict between what God says and what aka says to do.
Proverbs 30: 5-6
5 Every word of God proves true; he is a shield to those who take refuge in him. 6 Do not add to his words, lest he rebuke you and you be found a liar.
Also, this was a prayer initiates had to repeat, so all initiates unknowingly used the scripture out of context in its manipulated form to serve the agenda of aka opposed to, serving the agenda of God’s will and the word of God.

Key factors here:
What the word of God Says
Psalm 141: 3-4
3 Set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips. 4 Do not let my heart be drawn to what is evil so that I take part in wicked deeds along with those who are evildoers; do not let me eat their delicacies.
Conclusion: Again, scripture is being used in the ritual and out of context. The word of God is saying to “set a guard over my mouth, Lord; keep watch over the door of my lips,” and it’s asking that so you won’t be drawn to what is wicked or evil. In the aka ritual book, Lord is taken out and it’s used to further aka’s agenda, yet again. This oath is asking initiates + members to help other members when necessary, to stand by aka whether right or wrong, and to refrain from speaking anything negative about the org. The way I am sharing the truth and the Word of God to combat the ritual book misusing scripture would be seen as “ ill-will” according to the ritual book, because it isn’t seen as favorable to many. Initiates + members used a scripture that was originally supposed to be used to ask God to help keep us // turn away from evil things, to ensure we further submit to aka. Again, scripture is being used, and it is clearly out of context.
Quick example:
We see this same tactic being used when satan tried to tempt and deceive Jesus in the wilderness. The enemy tried to do so by using the Word of God. If Jesus himself was tempted by the enemy by using the Word of God, what makes you think as Christ followers we are exempt from that?
Matthew 4: 4-9
1Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted[a] by the devil. 2 After fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 The tempter came to him and said, “If you are the Son of God, tell these stones to become bread.”
4 Jesus answered, “It is written: ‘Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.’[b]”
5 Then the devil took him to the holy city and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. 6 “If you are the Son of God,”he said, “throw yourself down. For it is written:
“‘He will command his angels concerning you,
and they will lift you up in their hands,
so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’[c]”
7 Jesus answered him, “It is also written: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”
10 Jesus said to him, “Away from me, Satan! For it is written: ‘Worship the Lord your God, and serve him only.’[e]”
11 Then the devil left him, and angels came and attended him.
Another thing to note, verse 8 and 9 states:
8 Again, the devil took him to a very high mountain and showed him all the kingdoms of the world and their splendor. 9 “All this I will give you,” he said, “if you will bow down and worship me.”

Many people say this org, and other organizations are founded on Chritian principles, which is the furthest from the truth. Just because something has scriptures (missued), some sort of biblical theme, or God’s name in it, does not mean it was founded on biblical principles. Also, throughout the ritual, the same attributes or actions we should be doing for God and Him only is being expected of members to do for aka. Initiates + members are supposed to bow/ kneel, which is submitting under the will and ideals of the organization. Members are also supposed to reverence aka and bring the organization glory, AND have to pray against anything that would keep members from submitting or doing anything against the will of the sorority, as I discussed earlier in the document. Initiates + members of this organization ( and other orgs) are essentially pledging their lives to the organization and more specifically,
Page 39, paragraph 4
What the word of God Says
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.
Conclusion:
The ritual took this very scripture and used it, yet again, to further the agenda of aka. The only difference is the ritual book has strength instead of soul. Another imitation of scripture. Why is aka requiring members to take oaths and pledges to hold it as close as we SHOULD hold God? Why are members taking forbidden oaths and pledges using the same verbiage to describe God and actions used to show reverence to God toward these organizations? Furthermore, these oaths and pledges are being bound and sealed by prayers that have scriptures that have been taken out of the Word of God, manipulated and used out of context to better serve the agenda of these organizations. It takes the attention off of God and even if YOU THINK God is “in it” just because His name is being used, does not mean He is of it or the center of it!
The Word of God is true and it is clear and anything that is in conflict with it is false.

Topics and Precepts for further understanding:
Secrecy
Throughout the aka there is a common theme of secrecy (i.e, rituals, pledges, pledging process, handshakes), even though the Bible speaks directly against it.
Being shown “the light”
A common saying through aka and other greek organizations is thanking the founders, dean or adp for showing/ guiding initiates to “the light”. You may think this to be a harmless saying, but it is important to understand exactly how satan works. He makes things that blatantly go against God's word a trend or seem harmless, when in actuality they are not.
Serving two masters
Below are a few scriptures that show us that it is impossible to serve two masters. By bowing to a greek organization we are submitting ourselves to the God or Spirit of that organization. Whether you know it or not. These scriptures show us that we will not be held guiltless if we choose to serve two masters.
Knowing a man by his fruit
Many people claim that aka is a Godly organization. We have already shown you that it is not based on the scriptures above. These scriptures below tell you how to identify someone or something. Aka does do a lot of positive things in the community, but you must look at the root foundation of the org. What is this organization based on? Again, we have already shown that above. The foundation stands on rituals, pledges, hymns etc that are not of God. In addition, Initiates bow to a greek god (atlas) who is shown on the aka shield. It doesn't get more blatant than that. All of these things are considered the ‘works’ of aka. See the scriptures below.
Last but not least, when you realize you have been operating in sin, you must denounce the sin or you will be held guilty of that sin. Whether for good or evil. Now you know.
Leviticus 5:1,4-5 - 1“‘If anyone sins because they do not speak up when they hear a public charge to testify regarding something they have seen or learned about, they will be held responsible. 4 or if anyone thoughtlessly takes an oath to do anything, whether good or evil (in any matter one might carelessly swear about) even though they are unaware of it, but then they learn of it and realize their guilt— 5 when anyone becomes aware that they are guilty in any of these matters, they must confess in what way they have sinned.
