Brain Awareness Day

Our Brain Awareness day yesterday was a huge success and my thanks go to Reception parents for supporting your children in their learning.
The children made plasticine brains, brain hats and neural networks whilst learning about how their brains work while learning new things. Our thanks go to our STEM Ambassador and Parent Governor, Dr Clare Mackay and her team for a very informative presentation.
We will continue to encourage the children to challenge themselves and develop their growth mindsets.

St Patrick’s Day

The school celebrated St Patrick’s Day this week with an energetic and very impressive performance by pupils who attend the club.

Well done to all those involved!

Recycled Art Day

Last Friday the children took part in a recycled art day at school.  Thank- you for sending in all the items that we needed.  The day was a great success and you will have probably seen some of the work around the school grounds. Thank you to Mrs Hudson for organising this event and to all the staff for helping and making the school tidy again by the end of the day!

I love the Elmers!

Sports Success

Ignite Sports Under 11’s Oxford City cup final

Huge congratulations to the year 5 and 6 pupils who represented Hagbourne at last week’s Ignite Sports under 11’s Oxford City cup final, held at Oxford City Football Club.
The team put in a superb performance to win the final 2-0 against Witney Community School to qualify for the under 11’s national league trust South West tournament, which is due to be held in Bath. As well as representing Hagbourne, the school also has the opportunity to represent Oxford City football club at the event, and will even have a new set of kit donated to them from Macron!

Well done to Joseph, Simon, Tim, Jesse-Lee, Mckenzie, Samuel, Alfie, Charlie and Will who all played a part in progressing this far. Good luck for the South West heat at Bath!

Easter Holiday Club Update

Unfortunately, due to a low uptake for places, we are unable to run the club this Easter.  Although this is disappointing, we know that there is a need for good quality, exciting holiday care, so we will pushing forward to run something, along with Full Circle Sports, during the summer holiday.  Watch this space for news!
Full Circle Sports are running a club in Wallingford this Easter, if you would like to see what they are all about, please see
fullcirclesports.co.uk for more details and booking information.
