2017 Executive Committee
On behalf of Executive Committee 2017, I wish everyone a Happy New Year !
I hope everyone had good holidays and were able to spend time with family and friends. We are off to a great start with the new committee and look forward to another fabulous year.
Inside This Issue
Happy New Year to all! My best wishes to a great year ahead, and hope that you are able to meet your goals and aspirations for 2017.
First of all, I wish to thank everyone for your generous contributions to our community. Time and money are crucial to the well-being of our community, and though they are sometimes hard to part with, it is truly humbling to know that our community willingly (and might I add, with great enthusiasm) does do that.
Compared to other states, we consider ourselves a small community. However, we are a fast growing one too. Any growth comes with its challenges. It is how we deal with them that truly epitomizes who we are.
Over the years, I have experienced our community meet many challenges. From contributing to those in need, to trying to meet our own needs of volunteering and donating for all the big and small events that we hold throughout the year.
Though we have navigated our course sometimes deftly, and sometimes not as much, one thing is always true - we ultimately come together to work them out. This camaraderie is even more important this year. As we embark on this journey to determine our future location for meetings and pathshalas (among other things), it is imperative that we make those decisions in an informed and responsible way.
So, fellow travelers, let’s take this journey together, and leave behind a great legacy for our future generations!
The community holds its monthly meetings at the Hindu Temple in Morrisville, NC. We invite everyone to attend the monthly meetings.
For planning purposes, Please inform our Food Coordinator, Mrs. Neha Mehta, if:

Weekly Mahavir Puja
Every Saturday, a Mahavir Puja is performed at the Hindu Temple. Volunteers sign up to perform this Puja, and are assigned specific Saturdays.
The Puja is very simple and takes less than one hour. It is a great way to teach and prepare children with this important ritual, so that they find confidence in performing it during daily routine, special occasions or even pilgrimages in India. Children will learn how to perform the kesar Puja and all aspects of Asht prakari Puja.
Mrs. Rekha Banker, who coordinates weekly Puja, will be happy to demonstrate in person, and has several books with illustrations to help. If you are interested, please contact her at firstname.lastname@example.org or at (919) 676-4548.
