The ROOM is dimly lit with only scarce lighting entering the room trough a half open window. KATIE is standing near a shelf. With limited movement taking place a DIARY falls from the shelf and onto the floor. A PHOTO of JASON is seen and a little NOTE reading “and if death do us part, I’ll still love thee.”
KATIE is smiling gently to herself and picks up both the PHOTO and NOTE.
She strokes both, the PHOTO and NOTE.
The image begins to blur out.
2 EXT. Flashback Sequence 2
LIVING ROOM: There is CHAD and SOFIE who are KATIE’S friends. They are SITTING on the SOFA. Opposite KATIE there is a younger sister sitting down (SISTER) they are LAUGHING. KATIE is looking at a similar age female sitting in the corner, ROSE who is in higher focus.
(Conversation takes place with UNCLEAR audio)
SISTER:
She’s doing it again
She looks worriedly at KATIE then to the PARENTS.
SOFIE:
KATIE? Are you okay?
She seems anxious and on the verge of tears. CHAD GRABS SOFIE’S hand
CHAD:
Sweetie, can you hear SOFIE?
KATIE is fully focused on ROSE. ROSE WAVES her hand towards the FRIENDS and SISTER as if telling KATIE to respond to them.
SISTER WAVES her hand in KATIE’S face.
Sister:
Hello, earth to KATIE…
(With more CLARITY than the previous dialogue)
ROSE:
Listen to them, please KATIE
She looks GRAVELY at KATIE.
KATIE then turns their attention towards SOFIE and CHAD, and FORCES a SMILE, who seemed EXTREMELY RELIVED and then tries to cover up.
PARK: In the far distance you can see KATIE AND JASON WALKING together in the park – this replicates the opening scene of the movie. Both KATIE and 2 are LAUGHING as KATIE holds JASON’s arm.
A WOMAN WALKING past walks past the couple and looks CONFUSED as she begins to QUICKLY WALK away. After a few moments A LITTLE GIRL WALKING by with her MOTHER TUGS at her MOTHER and POINTS at the couple, her MOTHER QUICKLY USHERS her away.
DARKENED ROOM, ONE FAINT LIGHT COMING IN THROUGH THE WINDOW EMPHASISING THE FACIAL EXPRESSIONS OF KATIE. NOT MUCH FURNITURE BESIDES THE UNDRESSED BED.
ROOM (same as the First Scene but from a different time)The ROOM is BRIGHTLY lit. KATIE is sitting cross legged on the floor WRITING in a DIARY (same as in scene 1) Her HANDWRITING is in beautiful ITALICS. “He’s like an angel gods sent to make me better” she laughs to herself
KATIE:
Maybe I still am crazy
(Sitting across the classroom from each other: both KATIE and JASON are having GLANCES to each other and SMILLING/LAUGHING – KATIE FIDGETING NERVIOUSLY)
There is a single desk where KATIE is SITTING at. There is a Shakespeare book on the TABLE as well as the maths work she should be doing. She HOLDS a PHONE under the TABLE, TEXTING JASON . She RECEIVES a TEXT, “How’s my Princess? – Your Romeo? “Tell me why I can’t call you bae again? Smh” KATIE smiles, SHAKES her head and LAUGHS at the TEXT
ROOM: KATIE is SITTING on the floor in the corner of the room, she is WRITING on her DIARY again. In SHARP HANDWRITING she WRITES “It feels like the demons in my head are getting stronger again” The PEN begins to SHAKE and she begins to SWEAT. She TOUCHES the side of her FOREHEAD GENTLY as if pressing too hard would make it hurt even more.
CURRENT TIME: KATIE is sitting down and beginning to go LIMP and takes a few STEPS BACK and hits her back on the WALL.
KATIE:
What is happening?
KATIE:
I can’t stop shaking?
KATIE:
(Begins Sobbing)
LIGHT APPEARS IN THE DOORWAY
Near the DOOR you can see ROSE moving forward as if to help KATIE, she takes a few HESITANT STEPS but seems to think better of it and moves BACK again. KATIE seems to ignore ROSE.
VISION becomes BLURRY
FADE TO BLACK
INT: EMPTY ROOM 8
LIGHT BULB IN THE MIDDLE OF CEILING, UNBEKNOWN TO KATIE THERE ARE COLOURED FLASHLIGHT MACHINES IN THE ROOM.
KATIE: (Shouts loudly) make it STOP! Please make it STOP!
Jason: (Bursts into the room) KATIE... KATIE Calm down!!
Katherine: Oh my gosh! KATIE are you ok
KATIE: Jason get her away from me now, before I do something I regret
(KATIE HAS HER SUSPICIONS ABOUT an apparent AFFAIR)
Jason: I think you had better leave Katherine
Katherine: Babe, I am not going anywhere until I know she is ok
(KATIE SOBS LOUDLY, SHE SCREAMS)
4 EXT. Flashback Sequence 4
In the distances she sees JASON and best friend(KATHERINE) kissing (Blurred out – out of focused when she looks towards them) (Soon tears are failing from her face)
PARK: JASON and another girl (KATHERINE) are walking in the same park that KATIE and JASON had their date at. KATHERINE turns around JASON by the arm and looks him in the eyes.
JASON :
Look, she’s crazy – mentally unstable!
He seems exhausted and angry
I swear I only love you!
KATHERINE:
Oh really?
JASON :
Can you really love someone as crazy as her? Someone with her condition?
He looks GRAVELY at KATHERINE, She smiles and looks at him
I love you.
KATHERINE smiles in a FLIRTY manner
KATHERINE:
Prove it…
JASON SMILES and LEANS in towards KATHERINE
In the distance you can see KATIE observing the scene from behind a TREE. She is LOOKING as he LEANS in. She QUICKLY TURNS around to avoid seeing the scene. The audience see both, JASON AND 4, disappear. KATIE LEANS on the TREE and starts to SHAKE and CRY, the camera SHIFTS FOCUS TO THE EMPTY AREA WHERE JASON AND 4 WHERE PREVIOUSLY AND THEN BACK AT KATIE. A TEAR rolls down her CHEEK.
KATIE: (whispering to herself)
Don’t you ever talk to me again… Both of you!
THE CAMERA MOVES AROUND, TO SHOW AN EMPTY PARK.
DARK ROOM: KATIE is SHAKING VIOLENTLY as JASON stands in front of her. JASON looks ANGRY and the audience becomes quickly aware of the heated situation.
JASON :
What the hell is this all about?
KATIE:
OH MY GOD! Really, you’re really going to ask me that? I saw you with that girl –
JASON STEPS BACK
JASON
I don’t know what the hell you’re talking about
KATIE:
I’m not crazy okay
THROWS arms in the air.
JASON :
You see things that aren’t there, you completely zone out on your family, and you’re so paranoid!
KATIE:
You don’t understand! I love the same as everyone else, if not deeper!
She PULLS him closer and is FACE to FACE with him.
I loved you for god shake! You can’t treat me differently! I’m still human! I still have feelings
She PULLS him even closer then whispers in his ears
KATIE:
If death do us part, I’ll still love thee
She KISSES his CHEEK and then pushes him back.
(VOICEOVE)
KATIE
“I was telling myself to keep in control, I knew I shouldn’t done what I did – it’s all my fault”
(KATIE PUSHES her JASON and he hits his head on the wall hard, KATIE SOON GASPS realising what she done and QUICKLY GOES OVER to her JASON SHAKING him to get up)
KATIE:
I’m sorry. I guess we both done something hurtful to one and other . . . Mine was just evil like me..
(KATIE PANICS AND SHAKES, before GETTING UP SHE KISSES HIS CHEEKS) (from the editing a scar of lips are craft on his face)
KATIE:
The kiss of death they told me about is real…
SCREEN FADES TO BLACK
BLACK ROOM: The ROOM is PITCH BLACK, with no lighting what so ever. Suddenly a LIGHTER is LIT and the camera focuses on the FLAME that is HELD in front of KATIE’s RED LIPS. JASON LEANS in , there is a SCAR on his CHEEK (where she kissed him in the previous shot) and he whispers in her ear.
JASON :
Hushhhh…
HE BLOWS out the FLAME
SCREEN GOES BLACK
FOGGY WINDOW: KATIE is SITTING near a window. It is FOGGY as she DRAWS a HEART and writes “I miss you” underneath it. Just as she finishes the rain comes and washes away the WRITING and HEART, it appears to visibly be BREAKING APART. She puts her HAND on the foggy WINDOW. She seems to laugh.
BATHROOM/HOME:
KATIE:
(WALKS to the bathroom and stands next a mirror near a sink)
(Whispers) I miss you
(LOOKS AT HER RELFECTION IN THE MIRROR AND SCREAMS HOLDING HER HANDS TO THE SIDE OF HER FACE)
She puts her hand on a MIRROR and THROWS it on the floor.
(STARTS TO GET ANGRY AND RUNS BACK IN TO HER ROOM AND THROWS HER THINGS ON THE FLOOR WHILST CRYING)
6 EXT. Flashback Sequence 6
ROOM: There is broken glass, from the previous flashback, on the ground. There is nothing in view. The lights flash off and then back on so we see JASON with his scar in the dim lighting. Another time the lights flash off an back on again and JASON has disappeared. A tilted angle of shot shows KATIE falling to the ground which can be seen directly and through the reflection in the mirror pieces.
KATIE SLOWLY FALLS TO THE GROUND, CRAWLING LIKE A BALL)
(KATIE than RUSHES to get all her important things and heads out to the train station – in a crowed place)
BRIDGE: KATIE is here to get things out of her head.
There is a busy crowded area where KATIE stands STILL in the middle as everyone walks past without stopping. The people are almost transparent and overlap in various aspects.
Various voices can be heard by KATIE.
SISTER (DISTORTED VOICE)
She’s doing it again
CHAD (HIGHER PITCH)
Sweetie, can you hear your SOFIE?
SOFIE(DEEPER)
KATIE? Are you okay?
ROSE(SLOWER)
Listen to them, please KATIE

VOICES (HIGHER PITCH)
KATIE,KATIE,KAITE
JASON (SLOW)
Look, she’s crazy – mentally unstable!
JASON
Hushhh…

JASON

ROSE

KATIE

JASON (DEEP)

KATIE:

JASON (FALLING APART)
Look, she’s crazy – mentally unstable!

KATIE: (WHISPERING)
He was never real was he?
In her head
ROSE:
He’s like me, I tried to tell you
FADE TO BLACK
Voices:
He was never real, It’s all in your head.
(Daunting whispers)
IT’S ALL YOUR FAULT
WHY COULDN’T YOU CONTORL YOUR ANGER STUPID
YOU HURT THE PERSON YOU LOVE
KATIE:
(SCREAMS) HE HURT ME FIRST!
PEOPLE passing by look at her WEIRDLY
KATIE is on the ground crying and shaking with her head and arms on her knees
