In this issue
“I am not my own:
I have given myself to Jesus.”
-Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha
We will be honouring our wonderful volunteers at our annual volunteer breakfast on Friday, June 24th from 9-10am in the Learning Commons. If you have volunteered your time this year (lunch programs, parent council, classroom volunteer, field trip, guest speaker, etc.) we would love to acknowledge your contribution to the success of our school.
Year End Mass
We will also be having our Year End Mass in the gym on Friday, June 24th. It will take place after the Volunteer Breakfast, at 10:05am. All members of our school community are welcome to attend.
St. Stephen Idol
The performers have been practising and it’s clear that the students in the audience will be very entertained by the talents of those who signed up to perform during second block on Monday, June 27th. St. Stephen Idol will be for the students and teachers of the school. Due to space constraints in the gym, this event will not be open to other members of the school community. Sorry for any inconvenience.
Report Cards and Last Day of School
A reminder that the Report Cards will be sent home on Tuesday, June 28th. Parents are encouraged to review the report with their child and to return the comments slip to the school the following day. The next day, Wednesday, June 29th, is the last day of school for the 2015-16 school year. Thursday, June 30th is a PD Day.
A reminder to parents and Grade 6 students that the Grade 6 leaving ceremony will be held on Tuesday, June 28th at Holy Spirit Parish, from 1-3:30pm. It will be a very special day for all who are involved.
Thanks to everyone who was able to attend the School Council BBQ last week. We had wonderful weather and a great turnout. Thanks to everyone who provided so much positive feedback about the event, and to the many generous people who donated items for the basket raffle. We hope everyone enjoyed themselves, and the prizes, if you were one of the lucky ones who won a basket! The basket raffle raised over $2000, which will be used when we implement new school initiatives.
