[1] It is not clear which picture is being referred to. In June 1907, de László painted a portrait of Queen Alexandra’s daughter, Princess Victoria [10303]. Whilst painting the Princess’ picture, Edward VII commissioned the artist to execute his own portrait [7705]. Following its completion, it was only a few weeks before de László was asked to paint a pendant portrait of the Queen [7707].
