Dear Mr. Blake Wirgman,

I thank you for your letters of 10th, I am forwarding the one to Calcutta with the hope that it may bring commission to you.

With reference to the copy of Lord Minto’s portrait by Mr. de Lászlo you are aware I have nothing to do with this, and I think it is a matter that Lord Minto himself has attended to.

 

I have received a telegram from Calcutta intimating that the portrait of the Countess of Minto [6343] by Mr. de Laszlo was unveiled by H.E. Lord Carmichael, Governor of Bengal[1] on Monday, a large and influential audience being present.
