Pre-Written Prompts for comment cards, emails, and letters:

Prompt 1:

Dear [Ray and/or Danika],

I am deeply concerned to learn about the firing of SJ for exercising their First Amendment rights while off duty. Their actions on May 20 did not cause any harm to visitors or park resources and was a beautiful reminder that National Parks are for everyone. Firing SJ is unacceptable and sets a dangerous precedent that federal employees risk losing their jobs simply for expressing personal views on their own time.

I demand that SJ be reinstated immediately. Free speech is a constitutional right, and Yosemite National Park must not undermine it.

Sincerely,

Prompt 2:

Dear [Ray and/or Danika],

I am outraged by the firing of SJ for displaying a trans pride flag while off duty. This action is discriminatory, especially given that other employees have flown flags without consequence. Singling out this employee is not only unfair but sends a chilling message that marginalized people are not welcome in our National Parks.

This sets a dangerous precedent that federal employees can be silenced or targeted for who they are and what they believe. I demand the immediate reinstatement of SJ and a clear affirmation that Yosemite National Park will uphold both free speech and nondiscrimination.

Sincerely,
