- Did -
- Will do -
- Blocked? -
- Did - Worked on ENG-01 (tech lit review of similar systems), adding several entries; overall conclusion - we are in good company and there is lots of interest in this concept, but no one has kit’ified it from what I have seen; see https://opendesignengine.net/projects/groundsphere3/wiki/Similar_Projects
- Will do - Add Josh’ research (from email) to the wiki page to complete ENG-01; start a forum thread to act as an engineering journal for my implementation of ENG-02 (reproduce $30 blog post results); at some point also need to schedule a meeting with Greg to review some questions from Josh to the Product Owners about longer term vision/goals
- Blocked? - not quite, but work schedule plus other OSHW commitments have me pinned time commitment wise
- Did - Gathered models and images to start working on the logo. Using these to determine object placement and framing in the logo. Still determining how much detail content needed in raster-to-vector images. Experimenting with a new vector software which is going well.
- Will do - Complete drawing and placement of the actual Ground Sphere image including transmission rays/lines. Contemplate option of high resolution logo and a low resolution. Priority on high res. As a member of the local hackerspace, make a post about Ground Sphere.
- Blocked? - Some time needed to familiarize myself with more vector software.
- Did - looking at what other maker channels in terms of where we can share about ground station related work; searching for oshw ground stations turns up one of our blog posts; there seems to be some cross talk with drones around ground stations; Make magazine has their own (~$400 budget) and is from Sept of 2015; want to see how we can piggyback off of existing traffic; thinks that the budget scale will be a good differentiator; thinks we will need to utilize “local” traffic (like local maker faires, etc); completed MKTG-09 (registering GS on social media sites); MKTG-05 messages went out for last week
- Will do - going to look for other maker groups in the areas where the team members live to interact with them and get conversations going; will generate lists for this and where to post about ground stations; this will post about this week’s stand up as part of MTKG-05
- Blocked? - twitter has shut down the @groundsphere, may need board support to get it back
- Did - (admin) wrote blog post about the poster give away; did not have time to get a blog post written about current work in the IPT or generate more ideas for promoting GS
- Will do - write blog post about current work in the IPT or generate more ideas for promoting GS
- Blocked? - none
- Did - have collected 4 example link budgets, evaluating them, those that match will be posted to the wiki page
- Will do - will complete the review and post them to ODE and anticipate having a preferred one to select
- Blocked? - moving the lab this week so may have low time or interrupted services
- Chris - thinks everything is doing a good job; want to put a couple of things in context that got mentioned - some of Brian and Ingrid’s work is not part of the sprint (which in this case is good, as it is all work that is research for example) and in this case they fit into the agile approach as it sets up future success; one of the other items relates to items that are in the scope of the IPT vs outside the scope of the IPT; the marketing work is sometimes in scope (when directly related to Ground Sphere) vs admin (general support of Mach 30 like this week’s blog post), so the intent is to focus in the stand up is on the in scope work
- J - but that does not make Ingrid’s blog post for example any less valuable, just for another meeting
- Chris - last thing.. There is also now an IPT slack channel
- J - for interactive or semi-interactive comms use slack, for longer delay post to forums; reserve email for when really needed (private info, etc)
- Brian - when will logo be ready?
- J - see Ray’s stand up report; due by end of sprint….
- Chris - noted that the PBI does not specify all versions and all sizes, etc; the PBI would be done with a single version being done
