1. How many synonyms or near-synonyms of "going" can you find?
To head to, to drive (sb) to, to be on one’s way to.
2. How has walking been transformed by this way of life?
Now it’s either recreational (to walk the dogs, to the mailbox and back), or a tiny part of transport (from parking lots to buildings, for example).
3. What are the problems originated/not solved by the road system?
Congestion. The interstate roads were designed to take people from the suburbs to the great business areas (Dallas, in this case). But now many people live and work in the suburbs, so the smaller secondary roads are jammed. The enhanced road network also caused the population to double, and the number of cars to triple (which means more jammed roads)
4. Why does the reporter call the situation in the Dallas-Fort Worth area a "construction loop"?
Because they are trying to reduce congestion, as he says “building their way out of the problem”. But it won’t be long before those roads attract more residents, who will be demanding more roads.
