Growing Minds' Day By Day (Growing Minds)

Each week, the Growing Minds team will select a theme related to food, gardens, or nature, and share thematic recommendations for children’s literature, activities, recipes, and online resources.
Edible Education for the Home Classroom (Edible Schoolyard Project)
The Edible Schoolyard Project is creating educational resources – created specifically for this time of distance learning – that engage students in understanding how food is deeply connected to so many parts of our lives. Pilot Light's Food Education Center: Spark Students’ Curiosity With Food Education! (Pilot Light)
Pilot Light was started with chefs and teachers partnering together using food in the classroom, and now all teachers can use Pilot Light free lesson plans for their students! The Food Education Center includes K-12 lessons for kids that make it easy to integrate food education into existing curricula and to inspire your students’ curiosity while promoting a healthy relationship with food. Return to School Planning Resources (Center for Ecoliteracy)
The Center for Ecoliteracy convened a special COVID-19 Task Force with school nutrition leaders from the California Food for California Kids® Network to identify key priorities and planning needs for California's school districts during the pandemic. As districts prepare for a return to school and the upcoming 2020–2021 school year, this resource can be used to plan for different meal service program scenarios, operational changes, reopening protocols and more.
