Immunization Public Service Announcement

Purpose:

Vaccination is the process of exposing a person to a pathogen on purpose in order to develop immunity. In vaccination, the pathogen is usually injected under the skin by a shot. Only part of the pathogen is injected, or a weak or dead pathogen is used. It sounds dangerous, but the shot causes an immune response without causing the actual illness. Diseases you have probably been vaccinated against include measles, mumps, and chickenpox. Vaccinations are essential in the effort to eradicate life threatening and deadly diseases. Millions of lives have been saved because of the vaccination efforts. No drug has been studied or scrutinized more than current available vaccinations. These vaccinations have been proven to be safe.

It is essential that the public understand the importance of vaccinations in order to keep people safe and healthy. Your job is to create a public service announcement about vaccinations to better inform the public about being vaccinated.
