Pedestrian Safety Presentations

On Monday, April 18th and Tuesday, April 19th, the five Kindergarten classes were very fortunate to have the opportunity to attend Pedestrian Safety presentations in the Learning Commons. The students learned about following the rules of the road while watching an interesting and informative presentation from the Ottawa Safety Council.

Rock the Arts Performances

The Learning Commons continued to be a busy place, as the Rock the Arts puppeteering group put on some amazing shows for our entire school population on Wednesday and Thursday. The Kindergarten and Primary students attended performances on Wednesday and the Junior students attended performances on Thursday. The students learned about caring for the environment, which connected nicely with our Earth week activities, and some students even had the opportunity to try out their puppeteering skills!

Spring Photos

A reminder that Lifetouch will be returning to the school to take students’ individual Spring photos on Monday, April 25, 2016. Please complete the flyer that was sent home and return it on Monday. All students will have the opportunity to have their picture taken.

EAP Book Sale/Read-a-thon

Our EAP team will be holding a book sale and read-a-thon at the school on Friday, April 22, 2016. Students will have to opportunity to donate books, and buy the books donated by others. The books will range in price from $2 to $15, to help support the WWF. Any unsold books will go to our sister school - St. Luke’s. Once the books have been purchased, the students will have one block to read as many books as they can, as part of the Read-a-thon.

Not only will students be helping others, but they can win a prize too. The class that donates the most books will get 15 minutes of extra recess.

Boys Basketball Tournament

The two boys basketball teams are participating in the tournament being hosted at our school on Thursday, April 21st. We are always very proud of the effort our student athletes give and how well they represent our school. We are also very happy to see parents coming to the school to support their children during the tournament.

Celebrating Excellence

Finally, we want to congratulate Luca Matricardi, who received the Celebrating Excellence award for our school at St. Paul High School on Monday, April 18, 2016. Luca was recognized for displaying the Gospel Value of Faith through the positive contribution he makes to our school community.
