Student with Disabilities makes Quiz Team by:Lynzi Smith
In a small town in Ohio there is one girl that has everyone on their seats. 11 year old,Melody Brooks is a fifth grader with cerebral palsy has made the quiz team in Mr. Dimmings class. She cannot walk, talk, and eat by herself. Although all the things she cannot do, she has a lot of brains for a kid like her.

Melody is in a special ed class with other kids, but once a day she get to go to 115 with all the regular kids. She heard about the quiz team and wanted to get on it. She has to program all kinds of words into her Medi-Talker and study so much with her neighbor Mrs.V. When she went to the practices people did not believe that she could make it on the team, but you never know what can happen. Melody Brooks made the team! Although people did not believe in her, she believed in herself. When she made the team Rose Spencer, was so happy for her. When she got home everyone was so proud of her and knew that she could make the quiz team. If a kid like Melody can make a quiz team than the girl has some smarts. This is the girl who has everyone on their seats.
