Twitter at St Luke’s
 Connecting our learners

St Luke’s uses a variety of digital technologies for teaching and learning. We acknowledge they must be used responsibly and that modelling positive use is important to our students. We believe that learning cyber safe and responsible online practices are essential for students in a modern world and best taught in partnership between home and school. Safe, respectful and responsible behaviour is explicitly taught.

Twitter is a social media platform that is suitable for use by adults (Over 13 rules apply).  Our use of Twitter at St Luke’s is designed as a modelling process.  Students view tweets and contribute ideas but do not manage accounts or tweet themselves.  Such is the power of the potential of this tool, we believe this is a valid and worthwhile activity.  Twitter provides an amazing network of educators, connections to other schools and also connects our parent community to school news.

Some of the benefits include:

Over the years, we have had some amazing experiences where Twitter has enhanced our experiences.  They are highlighted on the following summaries created via a tool called Storify  https://storify.com/slblackburnsth
