DLA019-0203 Translation
1st May 1931
My dear László
Armand’s[1] colleagues and dearest friends are joining force to offer him his academician sword, drawn and executed by Louis Cartier.
The names of the donors will be engraved on a metal plaque at the bottom of the case. You would blame, and I even more, for the absence of your name on the list.
The official presentation will take place at the Institut d’Optique at the end of May or early June, at a date which will be communicated to you as soon as possible: I hope you will be in Paris then.
Send me promptly your subscription and a cheque (not above one thousand francs)[2] –
My wife and I send you both our best wishes.
L Bélugou.
