There will be a free math ACT test prep session held on Saturday, March 10, at 10 a.m. at the Muscle Shoals Public Library.  Interested students should sign up in the guidance office.  The session is provided by Delta Sigma Theta sorority.


If you plan to purchase a DVD of the CORONATION ceremony please bring the envelopes to Dr. Johnson. All orders must be turned in by Thursday, Feb 22.


Track practice will start Monday. Track team members should be dressed and on the track by 3:30. Don’t be late!


Students, I would like to tell you how grateful I am for your show of support for me by giving money for me during your hat day.  It will really help us out during my cancer treatment. Again you have shown how much you care for your MuscIe Shoals FaMily. I miss everyone and please pray for me to beat this cancer and that I can be back at school soon!

Anyone who is interested in helping out with the Howell-Graves Preschool Spring Fling should sign up in the guidance office.  This is a great way to get volunteer hours.


Sophomores and Juniors interested in participating in the Summer Work-Based Learning course must complete an Application and return it to Mrs. Stonecipher by Friday, March 2nd. Interviews will take place the week of March 12th - 16th. Students accepted for the Summer term will be notified by Friday, April 20th.

Sophomores and Juniors interested in enrolling for the Work-Based Learning Course during the 2018-19 School Year must request the course during enrollment and complete an Application which is due back to Mrs. Stonecipher by Friday, March 9th. Interviews will take place during March and April. Students accepted for the 2018-19 school year will be notified by Friday, May 25th.

Applications are available in the MSHS and MSCA offices.


Foodland in Muscle Shoals is currently seeking a part-time Stocker. If you are interested, please contact Mrs. Stonecipher by Friday, February 23rd.


Freshman, Sophomores, and Juniors- Check the lists of names to see if yours appears correctly. These lists will be used to vote for class favorites next week.

Seniors: Listerhill Credit Union will be at First Friday in Florence next Friday, March 2, with their video booth if you did not get a chance to apply for their scholarship last week.


All Northwest-Shoals scholarship applications, including Shoals Scholar Dollars, are in the guidance office.  Those are due March 6.

Applications for the Martin Luther King, Jr., Scholarship the Helen Keller Hospital Scholarship, and the Alpha Phi Alpha Scholarship are also available in the guidance office.


If you and your parents still need help completing FAFSA, there is free help available at UNA and at Northwest-Shoals!  Check your e-mail for details.


Any Seniors interested in trying out for UNA’s dance team, stop by Mrs. Gourgeot’s room on the blue hall for information.

JOI CLUB OFFICERS:  Please come by Mrs. Arthur’s room by Thursday, Feb. 22nd,  if you are interested in attending the District Convention in Huntsville.  Also anyone interested in becoming an officer in the JOI CLUB  for next year may be able to attend. See Mrs. Arthur for details asap.


11th or 12th grade students who are interested in joining the National Technical Honors Society may get an application from the MSCA or MSHS office. Deadline to submit the application to Mrs. Stanley in the MSCA office is March 14.


A meeting for CURRENT members of the National Technical Honor Society will be on 2/28 at 7:30 am in the multipurpose room at MSCA for the selection of officers.

Congratulations to this years Artistic Renderings of Youth competition winners!  Grayson Moye took 1st place in the 9th and 10 grade division.  Rachael Cowan won 3rd place and an Honorable Mention in the 11th & 12th grade division.  Jennifer Stafford won best 3D in the 11th and 12th grade division for her sculpture.  In addition to these students we have other students whose work was accepted and is featured in the exhibition.  Opening night is March 1st from 5:30 -8:30 pm at the Kennedy Douglas art center and admission is free.  Come out and show your support!

Good Luck to the Muscle Shoals Robotics Team as they compete at the UNA Robotics Competition this Saturday at 1:00 p.m.


Students who are interested in the Citizen Academy through the Muscle Shoals Police department may come get information in the office at MSCA.
