4 Tips to Immediately 10X Your Views on X
As I tested my theories on going viral, I discovered a handful of tips that anyone could use immediately to increase their reach.
Any one of these will help, but they can help you 10X your reach in a very short time.
1. Focus on Threads or Long Posts.
Now is the X renaissance, and threads are the real gold.
When you get a viewer to click “see more” or read your second post, X recognizes this engagement and boosts the reach.
The platform's goal is to keep people on the platform longer, encourage them to read more posts, see more ads, and generate more revenue. With the latest monetization plan, thread writers will be rewarded for high-quality content.
Here’s a thread I did below. It was about fun creative ads, but it got 29.9M views and got me over $5k worth of ghostwriting business. I haven’t connected my payout account, but from an extension I’ve found, this should bring in ~ $780.
2. Viral content is a combination of great ideas and packaging.
Every idea is interesting if you find the right angle for it.
One of the simple ways to think about it is through the lens of “For Who?” and “So What?” from here, you can use tools like Perplexity with a prompt like:
Here’s an idea I want to discuss: “Give me the most interesting facts, figures, stories related to it, or quotes that people find intriguing.”
You then use what you find to package your content most appealingly to your audience.
3/ Focus on the Hook!
80% of the results come from the effectiveness of the hook. Look at this example.
1st attempt: 54.8k views, 187 likes, 9 comments.
The problem:
- Hook was unclear about what "true stoic in 90 days" meant.
- The second line needed to be stronger.
- The image needed to be shorter and more aesthetically pleasing.
- The body of the thread had to be more concise and required editing.
2nd attempt: 543k views (10X views), 745 likes, 15 comments.
The solution:
- I changed the CTA line to focus on "removing stress, unlocking hidden potential" (clear on outcome and common desire.)
- Also fixed the second line to demonstrate and emphasize that Tim Ferriss, Epictetus, and Ryan Holiday swear by it.
- And choose a clearer and more aesthetic image of Marcus Aurelius.
4/ Content without distribution is pointless.
Unless your account has good natural engagement rates, you must consider distribution options.
Great content without any reposts or engagement is a waste of time. We will discuss this later, including where to find these accounts and free alternatives that are just as effective.

This 5-step process can deliver consistent QUALITY viral threads if correctly applied. Remember, I promised you a way to guarantee your results at the end, so if you feel overwhelmed at any point, no worries!
I’ve got you covered. Let’s get started.
1. The 10-Min Viral Ideation
It takes me less than 10 minutes to develop 50 interesting ideas/topics I can write about.
Brainstorm the topics you like to talk about.
Use YouTube or Perplexity to look up sources and research the topic.
Scrolling for a while, you can create a database of 30–40 ideas you want to write about.
We are looking for the piece's big idea/ angle and key idea.

2. Writing Banger Hooks
80% of the success of the thread depends on the hook. Here are a few simple but proven templates you can use:

Yet most have never heard of him.
Here's the forgotten story of the richest person in human history (that you should know):
I am age, I’m obsessed with, then I did X, and now I am Y:
I'm 18.
I’m obsessed with learning how to learn.
So, I spent 200+ hours studying how geniuses, prodigies, and high performers master their disciplines.
Here's what I found on how to master anything faster:
The best practice here is not to reinvent the wheel. You are likely new to the game, and it’s best to focus on how to go viral and learn the skill first.
- Create a bookmark folder on X.
- Create a list of 5–10 great writers.
- Use X Pro to save ideas in the folders.
This is now a SWIPE FILE you can refer back to when needed.

• Why did this hook work?
• What were the viral components of this hook?
Do some copy work - copying word for word by hand, so you can download the writing style.
If you can spend 15 minutes for the next 7 days doing copywork, you’d have a skill that most creators take YEARS to develop.
3. Rapid Outline and First Draft
First, do your research to understand what you’re about to write. List all the questions in mind, and if you can answer them, the thread will be complete.
Then, use Perplexity PRO to search for answers to your questions. List those main ideas in bullet points; the thread is 75% done.
Example:
Hook: One Main Question [BIG IDEA]
- Question
- Answer
- Sub question
- Answer 1 - Answer 2 - Answer 3
- Sub question
- Answer 1 - Answer 2 - Answer 3
- Call to Action
- Wrap up!
You will find this iterative, and your first outline won’t be your last one.
Now set a timer and fill out those questions… This should take anywhere from 30 minutes to 45 minutes, depending on your thread.
4. Ruthless Editing
Take a quick break after your first draft. Once you’re ready for editing, focus on these principles:
- 70% of your time is spent on the hook. 20% on the next 2–3 posts. 10% for the rest.
- Focus on clarity and simplicity. The shorter, the better.
- What are your promises, and how will you deliver? Focus on the transformation people are getting.
- Be specific whenever possible.
- Add your opinions, stories, and experiences to separate you from the crowd.
- Add shock factors/ controversies to spark conversations.
- Read out loud as you edit. If it doesn’t flow right, rewrite it.
5. Bulletproof Distribution
Social media is the network effect. The more people, connections, and friendships you have, your experience will improve.
You can use your time or your money to get distribution. It’s a scale of one or another or BOTH.
Time:
Tribe of friends: 5 - 10 creators on the same journey as you, looking to grow and go viral.
Boosting groups: Echoing the first idea of the tribe of friends, ideally, there should be a group chat and some ground rules (reposts, comments, etc.)
Money:
Growing alone is hard; having more experienced creators' oversight will help you avoid countless mistakes.
Ideally, the creators should be actively experimenting and have their systems. You can pay for coaching and get access to communities (highly recommended), or you can use a few large accounts that can help you go viral.
Paid ads are usually not worth it, as the results are less consistent, and the click-through rate is insufficient.
For any kind of distribution, remember to:
- Keep the content aligned
- Know how to capture that traffic
- Know what type of audience you want to attract.
Spending some money is logical if you have an offer, service, or product. This is a thread I did for my client. It got her over 24,000 new followers, hundreds of DMs from authority figures, and +$2,000 worth of sales from a simple landing page.
Quick recap:
1/ Start with creators whose audience you aspire to have.
2/ Source their viral ideas and answer the questions “For Who” and “So What?”
3/ Create a swipe file with the best hooks. Then, iterate on the hooks to improve them.
4/ Use Perplexity or Google to research and form an outline. Fill the outline with bullet points, and then expand on those ideas. This becomes your first draft.
5/ Give it some breathing space, and do your ruthless editing.
