Three Schroeder swimmers will travel to Greensboro, NC this week to race at the USA Swimming at&t Winter Nationals. The meet is SCY and the athletes are: Gwen Worlton, Hannah Saiz and Cassy Jernberg. Click on the badge to go to the meet site.
- First Annual “CASH FOR THE HOLIDAYS” Raffle: Last call! With the big drawing coming up during the Y Finalist Meet we have just days to go now. Coaches always have extra tickets with them; just let them know you need more.
Remember to drop off your ticket stubs to the coaches before or after practice, and keep up the great work! Thanks to everyone who continue to go above and beyond their required number of tickets.

If a swimmer utilizes a dolphin kick in the pull out they no longer need to initiate the pull by separating the hands before doing the dolphin kick. The dolphin kick must occur before the first breast stroke kick. Read More

After the awards presentation, there will be a Conference Holiday Social for all participants and their families. Milk and coffee will be provided for everyone. Please bring the following if your last name begins with:

Schroeder South
1. Check Out the Schroeder South Start and Turn Clinic:
Schroeder South is offering a clinic over the winter break for the first time. It will be a start and turn clinic available to AG1, AG2, AG3, Super 8, Schroeder Star and SuperStar swimmers.
Interested swimmers can sign up as they would for a meet. Registered swimmers will be billed for the clinic through their team account. Space is limited. We’ve already had a great response.

2. Time Is Short For The “CASH FOR THE HOLIDAYS” Raffle!:

To make it easier to order custom team Schroeder Wear from Bella’s, we have structured an online Bella’s Schroeder Wear Store. The store will be open for three 2 week windows per year. These are the only weeks in which orders will be taken:
a. 11/24-12/8/2014 - orders to be delivered by 12/19/14
b. 4/20-5/4/2015 - orders to be delivered by 5/15/15
c. Fall 2015 dates TBA
We have two delivery addresses, one for Schroeder South and one for Schroeder North, to make it easier for parents to receive their order. Be sure to indicate if your shipment should go to SS or SN. ALL ORDERS MUST BE PLACED BY 12/8/14 TO BE DELIVERED BY 12/19/14.

4. Introducing Coach Jourdie:
We are pleased to welcome Coach Jourdie Lepkowski to the Schroeder South Staff. Jourdie was one of the original Schroeder South swim team members when we began. As a senior, she just completed her final season of competition with the Franklin HS Girls’ Swim Team. Jourdie had a great career as a WI State Championship qualifying SST swimmer. Her main events were butterfly and distance freestyle. She knows the SS program inside and out, and we know she will be an excellent addition to our staff.
Jourdie will be joining Coach Riley to assist Coach Becky and Coach Ann with all of the team’s 12 & Under groups. Just FYI, Coach Riley will not be around much until February because he is swimming for his high school team (Thomas More) until then.

6. South Think Tank (SSTT):
We’re forming an official SSTT membership group for parents willing to commit to attend all 4 SSTT meetings a year (September, November, January and May) to develop consistency, so watch for an email. If you’re interested in becoming an official member, please let Bob know. All are welcome. It’s a great way to meet other parents, give your input, and help strengthen our team.
The next SSTT meeting is Monday, January 19th at 6:30 p.m. at Front Room Photo, 2637 S. Kinnickinnic Ave, Bay View. We plan to have our official SSTT members in place for the January meeting but as always, it’s open to all parents. A big thanks to the Laber family for offering their beautiful studio space for our 11/3 meeting and hosting our 1/19 meeting.
7. Signing Up For Meets On Your Swimmer’s Meet Schedule:
To enter a meet, click on the swim team home page, and scroll down to the list of meets. Click on “Attend/Decline” for the meet (enter password if necessary). Then click on Undeclared Athletes, scroll to your swimmer’s name, click on the name, commit (put yes) in the declaration box, and click on the save changes box.
Once the swimmer is committed, you may choose the swimmer’s events or have the coach choose the events (recommended).
If your swimmer cannot attend, follow the previous steps and put no in the declaration box. Please use the message box to explain why the swimmer is not participating, and then click on the save changes box.
If you have questions, do not hesitate to ask.
