Guiding Question:

How can we improve our Lexile scores over time?

Do Now:

Directions: Log in to Achieve3000.com. Start the lesson of the day, answer the question in at least one complete sentence.

Whole Class:

Directions: Discuss the question of the day in a Think/Pair/Share, starting with your partner, then your group. Students will be called on at random to respond to the whole class.

Collaborative Work:

Directions: In your group, read the article for the lesson in Achieve 3000. While you are reading, use the summary tool to note five important details from the text. The most important details you can find are the who/what/when/where/how/why for the article.

Independent Work:

Directions: Independently answer the 8 multiple choice questions based on the text. These questions are specifically designed for your Lexile level, so questions may vary from student to student.  Scoring 75% or better is considered passing for Achieve3000 multiple choice activities.

Exit Ticket:

Directions: Independently respond to the post-reading question. Your answer to this question should be one CEL paragraph or one summary paragraph depending on the prompt you are given.
