Monsieur Laszlo

I have seen – that is to say admired – your exhibits at the Brussels Salon.[1] The portrait of Leo XIII [4509], according to my humble judgement, is a capital work, which would certainly deserve the place of honour, a place occupied by a painting I would rather not name.

Please accept my sincerest congratulations and

be sure that I will always be happy to shake the hands which executed such a masterpiece.

Believe me, Monsieur Laszlo, sincerely yours,
